if I had followed Pony with Johnny, I would have had my denim jacket.
I hadn't gotten to get out though. Soda wouldn't have let me out. nor Darry and if Pony saw me followin' him he'd have turned back and made sure I'd stayed.

the socs hadn't been around much. And that's why I'd been able to go out. Darry would never let me fight or carry no blade.
I was tuff.
I coulda done it.
Soda was the easiest on me. he'd let me hold blades and bottles and trust I could handle myself.
I'd sat where Johnny would've and just sat. I missed Pony and Johnny. Dallas wouldn't tell ME where they were.
all I knew is somethin' happened with a soc.
I was dependin' on Sodapop to tell me where they had even gone. would they be back? well gosh I hope.
