SAMANTHA's POV

Samantha Piper woke up with Taylor Swift's 'Red' blasting through her earphones. She fell asleep trying to familiarize herself with the tune.

Friday was coming soon and Troy has been into the singer's fandom and Samantha might have promised to practice the song with her guitar so they can jam together. As she listened, Samantha have thought that Taylor Swift should have placed a line that went something like, "Loving him was silver cursed wrecking ball.", though that may ruin the whole song. Still, a wrecking ball, a silver shinning shimmering one, was a good color and object to describe how she felt.

Falling in love with someone you can never have was like living in a safe house about to be demolished by a wrecking ball.

In this analogy, the wrecking ball was the person you love. It's simply wrecking, well, for the obvious reasons.

You can never have him.

And so the moment he comes close, like a wrecking ball, you just know that the end is coming. The sad thing was, it doesn't stop like that. The wrecking ball crashes into you completely. It destroys you from end to end, completely crashing the safety you have before you met him.

That's how things went with Samantha and Trevor. He was her wrecking ball.

From the person always passing by her window, he came crashing into her high school life.

Ever since Samantha was old enough to talk about girl problems, Pandora Piper already had warned her that teenage life will definitely filled of dramas. Take note, plural form.

And she was so right.

Well, not that Samantha's life was any better before, but the point was, everything was about to get worse when she comes to that teen age. Samantha was thirteen by then, she was starting her 8th grade, when Trevor crashed into her life as a schoolmate. She pretended not to be so affected, and it wasn't that hard since Trevor was a goody boy who have decent friends, that seemed to have never cussed their whole lives, and Samantha belonged to the alpha female dogs aka Bitc-- Wait, let's not proceed to that.

Anyways, you get the point.

Every lunch, they sit at tables divided by oceans of other tables and hormonal teenagers. This meant that she never really entertained the chance of having deeper connections with Trevor. Yes, she still wants to be in his life, but Samantha knows her limits.

Thirteen was magical indeed. It felt like a huge transition in her life. She remembered that by just last year, when she was 12, there was no stopping her. Not even her Nana.

Just no, she will chase after Trevor.

And she did exactly what she wanted to do. Ignoring all the warnings, she tried to know Trevor more; as discreet as possible. With all the effort she spent for him, she definitely knew a lot of things about him. However, the biggest information that will put all the missing pieces together only arrived later that year.
