Alex walked into the bus with eyes rimmed with red, and I immediately knew what had happened.

"Garroth broke up with me," she stated firmly as she sat down on one of the sofas.

"Are you alright?"

"I'm fine. It was hard at first, but I'm already starting to get over it."

I looked back down at my phone. After last night, I had avoided all eye contact with Garroth and Alex up until this moment. Katelyn and I spent most of the night eating ice cream in the hotel, the carpet being dotted with the empty cartons this morning before we left.

It would be a struggle today seeming as we would all be on the bus together, Garroth, Alex, and I, leaving for Nahakra. Almost on cue, Garroth stepped onto the bus, judging from Dante's greeting, and walked to the back.

I looked down uncomfortably, doing the same as Alex. The silence was chilling, only broken by Sasha's yell, "Is everyone on?" from the front.

I stood up and left, trying to get as far from the others as possible, and went to the front of the bus to watch out of the windows. Nicole stepped on and noticed me, raising an eyebrow suspiciously.

She grabbed my elbow and practically dragged me to her bunk, where she forced me to sit in the tight space. She crawled up beside me and glared at me through narrow eyes.

"I heard the news of Alex and Garroth and I have a feeling you have something to do it with it, judging by your actions last night."

I looked down at my hands fiddling with my purple sundress nervously as she continued, "Don't act like I didn't see you. We saw Garroth go to your dressing room and you leaving upset. Plus, the fact that you've been avoiding everything to do with him is obvious."

I cowered against the back of the bunk, suppressing tears that were threatening to spill, but Nicole didn't stop, "I know Garroth. We had been internet friends all throughout our lives—as I'm sure he told you—and can tell when he's upset as well. I've seen the way Garroth acts around you, and the way you act around him. Now, you better tell me what had happened before things get worse."

By then, tears were silently trickling down my cheeks, "I'm scared. Of many things. I'm scared of hurting myself, of hurting my career, of hurting Alex. Nicole, I thought I had already experienced love up until this point. But I-I don't know what to do; how to feel..."

She placed a hand on my shoulder as I continued, "He had sensed that something was wrong with my behavior and asked to speak with me. I told him how I used to feel and how I knew him and Alex were happy together, then he," I choked back a sob, "he kissed me..."

"Aphmau..." Nicole said quietly, "It's going to be okay."

I shook my head, "How do you know that? It's hard because so many things could be hurt by starting a relationship as a celebrity. I hate being famous... I wish I never chose this career..."

Silence overcame us and I whispered something barely audible, "I don't want to hurt him."

The curtain opened from the outside and Garroth smiled sadly, "You could never hurt me."
