><Aphmau><

My feet carried me into the building of where I was first offered my record deal, the chilled air-conditioning pounding my face as it was prepared for the summer heat of June. Employees and other staff were bustling around in the back room. I stepped quickly over to the nearest elevator and hit the 4th Floor button.

The elevator surged upwards with a stomach-churning jolt, then came to an abrupt halt and opened the doors. I stepped into the marble-floored halls and found myself face-to-face with Dante, Laurence's second-in-command.

"Good morning, Aphmau. We'll be meeting in the conference room in fifteen minutes."

I nodded in return and went down the hall to the music room/recording studio. The acoustic guitar was sitting in the corner, waiting for fingers to strum the strings and make it sing. I picked it up and sat down on the sofa, tuning the strings as I waited. I began to play the music, bringing my voice to quietly sing the beginning to my new original.

I see your monsters, I see your pain...

"His name is Garroth, and he says he's been singing since he was young. He makes his music with his guitar, and performs at local hot-spots," Laurence was describing the person that would get the record deal, "I know it's usually my decision, but it's really difficult for me seeing as we've been buried under upcoming stars and he has potential. Here's his recording," he tapped the tablet sitting in front of him, and the audio on the device began to play. (Play video - All credit belongs to Braiden Wood)

He seemed to have a very deep, gentle voice, and I couldn't help but grin crookedly at the sound. The lyrics were well written, blending together into a smooth plotline for the song. Most people were nodding during the song, occasional grins and promising smiles during the time. I caught the eye of Nicole and nodded curtly, showing her that I liked his voice. She nodded back. Nicole always agreed to what I did, always saying I made good choices.

Halfway through the song, Laurence tapped the screen once more, stopping the song. "So?"

Everyone murmured their answers, occasionally there was a "I don't think so..." or "I've heard better." Though the majority of the people sitting at the table agreed together saying he would be a good addition to the performers of the record.

"I'll call him up later. Aphmau," Laurence then brought his eyes to my direction, "meet me in the recording studio in an hour. Meeting dismissed." I followed the others to exit the conference room and out towards the studio, deciding to wait there for the time. Lucinda was sitting on the same sofa I practiced on, tapping her knee with her hand as if she were creating a beat.

Lucinda was another one of Laurence's clients, new to the whole business. I always helped her with creating music since she was still getting the hang of it. "Hey, Lucinda," I greeted warmly, placing a small smile on my lips.

"Hello, Aphmau. What's this news about the new client?" She asked curiously.

"His name is... Garroth, I think? He's really good, too," I answered, running a hand lazily through my hair in an attempt to find something for my hands to do. Lucinda grunted in response, going back to creating a beat. "Need help?" I asked as I seated myself beside her.

Lucinda sighed inaudibly, bringing her eyes to meet mine, "Just a little. I want to be independent, but I'm still struggling."

I paid attention to her beat, then joined in, starting another Melody to go with it. After a while, Lucinda received inspiration and jumped off the sofa, "I got it! Thanks, Aph!" She scurried off hastily, singing quiet vocals as her ginger hair trailed behind her.

My foot tapped quietly as I hummed the song I was about to present to Laurence and Nicole. Typically, I'd be nervous. But this time was different. I was confident in this song and the way it sounded. This song may finally be a true breakthrough.

Hello! I never got a proper 'hello' in. So, hello! Welcome to my first Minecraft Diaries fanfiction! I don't really know how to explain where this story came from, only that I just randomly got inspiration for it.

Side note: I am aware that the videos are not Garroth/Aphmau singing. Just use the power of imagination and picture it as them singing.

Also, there will be a lot of videos in this story. Just be aware.

Lastly, if you go to my profile and look in my bio, you should find two links. You have a choice to listen to either Garroth's or Aphmau's playlist. If you have Spotify, then great. If you don't... well... download it...? Otherwise, enjoy those playlists of 'original' music. Technically, they belong to their rightful artists, though I'm using them IN THE STORY as their originals. I repeat, they belong to their rightful artists. *update of august 12, 2017: playlists have hereby been deleted*

Thanks for reading! Mwah!
