><Aphmau><

Garroth led me into a restaurant that led into a basement-like area. The walls were painted as if you were looking out onto scenery, making it a cozy, warm place.

We were seated down in the back corner, out of the eyes of all the other people who could have recognized us.

After ordering the food, we spent the time making small talk, "Alex caught me leaving. Thank Irene Katelyn was around, otherwise I wouldn't have an excuse to make."

"You know, we can't hide this for long. She'll need to know someday."

I sighed, "I know... But I don't want to lose her as a friend. It'll be a long tour if we aren't friends anymore."

"I recall you telling me something along the lines she was over me?"

"True," I grinned at him, "So the next concert is in O'Khasis. Plan to visit your family while we're there?"

"With you, sure. Alone, no."

"Make it a plan."

After dining on the cuisine and arguing over the bill—of which Garroth won but to my displeasure—, Garroth began to lead me to an apartment complex by the sea. He led me inside and up a staircase, eventually to the rooftop.

I looked around at the scene, the city skyline in the distance, lit up like a thousand stars, and the ocean in the distance, giving the air a salty scent.

We stood at the edge of the roof, gazing at the beauty, "Thank you, Garroth, for tonight."

"Anything for you," he squeezed my hand, and I leaned into his side as we sat against the wall, staring off at the ocean on the other side of the roof.

"You know I'm paying you back for dinner, right?" I told him, causing him to chuckle.

"I know."

I grinned triumphantly then turned back to the skyline, the sound of cars and buses roaring ten stories below us.

We stood up after several minutes and shared a moment of gazing into each other's eyes, lost in each sea of emotion, looking away only when we heard the door of the roof open and a group of teenage girls stepped out. I was silently praying to Irene they wouldn't recognize me when they found us standing at the edge, hand-in-hand.

But with my luck, two of them began to jump and down and started to run towards me.

"Is it really her?!"

"Can I have your autograph?!"

The other two girls came to the realization that I was a famous celebrity instead of a doppelgänger.

Eventually we were surrounded by a bunch of screaming teenage girls, "Amber! You brought your notebook, right?"

"Yeah! Oh my Irene, I can't believe I'm actually meeting the Aphmau!"

The girl on the far right seemed to be more calm, trying to get the other two away from my personal space, "Chill out, guys. She obviously wants some privacy," she beckoned towards Garroth.

"Right, right. Good thinking, Teony."

Finally I had the time to speak, "We'll—um—just get going now."

With many 'aww's' and 'no's,' Garroth and I finally sprinted down the staircase away from the group. We made no hesitation to make it to the hotel, parting ways.

The next day, the bus left as early as it ever did, Garroth and I both determined to get some well-earned rest before we went to visit his parents, a thought that caused a feeling which churned unsteadily in the pit of my stomach.
