I stand on the top of this hill,
Overlooking the city lights.
I realize just how insignificant
I am, how each of us is
In this whole mess, this whole story.
I get so wrapped up in my own world,
That I forget that I am
A part of Something bigger.
I lay on the face of the earth
With the grass tickling by bare skin.
I stare in awe at all the stars.
They each have their own story;
And some of them are already dead,
But their light still shines in the heavens.
Just like the dead stars,
I am a part of Something bigger,
And my life will continue
To shed a light, no matter the size,
In this world even when I am long gone.
I am a part of Something bigger.
