The particle o is a direct object indicator. It follows the nounbthat receives the direct action of the verb.

Relative time such as yesterday, today, tomorrow and others, usually come immediately before the topic.

Eigo (English) - Nihongo



I study Japanese - (Watashi wa) nihongo o benkyou shimasu
I do not study Japanese - Nihongo o benkyou shimasen
I speak Japanese - Watashi wa nihongo o hana shimasu
I do not speak English - Watashi wa eigo o hana shimasen

Do you wait for him? - Anata wa kare o machimasu ka

Shall we study Japanese? - Nihongo o benkyou shimashou ka
