1. The final syllable "su" of verbs is not pronounced as such. For example, "Soo desu" must be pronounces as "Soo des" without the final letter "u".

"Ikimasu" should be "ikimas"

2. "Deshita" is pronounced as "Desh'ta"

3. "N" ending in japanese (like pan, son) is considered as a separate consonant so that "son" is considered as two syllables "so" and "n"

4. Accent is only on two levels, high or low. The student must not speak Japanese musically in several pitches or tonal levels but rather only on two planes , two notes, low- high, low-low , or high-low on a certain level per syllable. For example:

Hashi (low-high) - bridge
Hashi (high-low) - chopsticks
