Bailey's POV
I went home with the cake as the rangers ran out of the house. I walked inside and out the cake on the table. "Here's the cake," I sighed. I got it out of the box and let it sit there. "Okay, so, uhm, these are people that Alexis knows. As you can see the rangers, Natalie, and I are the middle picture with her. And then the surrounding people are pictures she had taken with Sam, Dean, Cas, Brian, Dom, and other of her friends between here and Miami."
"Well, that is a lot of faces on a cake," Mentor replied.
"Yeah," I nodded.
Mentor looked at me. "Bailey, are you okay?"
"Why is everyone asking me that?"
"Because you're having an outburst with just me asking a simple question."
"Sorry. It's just...I'm..."
"Bailey, you know you can tell me. I promise I won't tell anyone else."
"A promise is a promise, right?"
"Yes, it is."
"Well, Mentor. It's not that I don't love Jayden, I do. I love him with everything I have."
"It's obvious things are getting serious between the two of you but you have just been distant the past two days. I know Jayden doesn't realize it."
"Yeah, but he's been focusing on Alexis, making sure she's getting healthy and a hundred percent before she goes out as a Samurai."
"Then, why have you been so distant?" Mentor looked at me. "Not just from Jayden but everyone else."
"Well, you did promise me you wouldn't tell anyone else." I nodded. "Mentor Ji, I'm pregnant."
"You're pregnant? With Jayden's child?"
"As far as I know, yes. I haven't been with anyone else since I left Cas. I just haven't told Jayden yet. I'm just not sure how he's going to react when he finds out."
"Bailey, you know that you can't hide that forever. In the long run, it's going to show."
"I know this, Mentor. It's just the question that keeps circling my mind about Jayden. I see how much being a ranger means to him. He's been practicing since he was five so it's really important. I'm just not so sure if he's wanting to be a father."
"You have to let Jayden know soon."
"Mentor, we've been through this but Jayden? Being a father? I don't know. I can see Jayden being a father but I'm not sure about that happening with the whole ranger thing."
"Jayden can be a great father. He had me, didn't he? This is his house. This is his home."
"But he has his team. I can't break him away from his team."
"Jayden will find a balance between his team and his family."
"His team is his family, other than me."
"I know what you're saying, but I'll make sure you and the child is his top priority."
"Thanks Mentor." The rangers walked in with Emily being hurt. "Emily." They helped her sit on a chair cushion. "What happened?"
"Moogers ambushed us," Kevin replied. "Emily was the last one standing. We're lucky to have made it out when we did."
"More moogers came at us," Jayden replied. "Ji, this time was different. Do you think they're capable of starting a war?"
"If they are, then we're outnumbered," Ji nodded. "This will take every single ranger out there."
"You think they'll be happy to have one last battle?" Jayden asked. "If it does come to that?"
"I'm sure they'll be happy to," Mentor nodded.
Sam, Dean, Cas, and Dom walked in. "What's Buster doing here?" Dom asked as he out the metal card down.
"Who you calling Buster?" Brian asked as Rome and Tej walked in. "I think I know."
"This guy," Don pointed at Dean.
"He's friends with Alexis," I replied.
"I'm not adding their names to the card," Dom nodded.
"I don't want you to add my name to that tin can of yours," Dean replied.
"Guys, snap out of it," Natalie looked at them. "You're all here and on that cake because you all have a special place in Alexis' heart."
"Who's this guy?" Brian pointed at someone on the cake, who wasn't there. "He doesn't look familiar."
"I know that guy," Dom smiled. "Why's he on the cake?"
"First Sergeant Dan Burnwood," I sighed. "He was Alexis' boyfriend for three years with her father's consent. At the beginning of her senior year, he was KIA."
"KIA?" Cas asked.
"Killed in action," Sam replied.
"She was with someone in the military?" Rome asked.
"And she waited months for someone who was never coming home," Natalie sighed. "When she got the news, she was devastated. I'm just glad she found someone she can share her life with now."
"Why would you put him on the cake?" Sam asked. "Wouldn't that break her down even more?"
"She specifically stated that she wanted him on her cake," Natalie replied. "I did what any good friend would do."
I heard voices outside. "They're here," I replied as I looked at the clock "Just on time. Hide!"
The lights turned off and we hid. "Cas!" Dean called.
"Why are we hiding?" Cas asked.
I crawled over to him and pulled him down. "When Mike and Alexis walk through the door, we jumped out and yell surprise," I explained.
The front door opened. "Why is it dark in here?" Alexis asked.
We jumped out as the lights turned on, "Surprise!"
"Oh my god!" Alexis exclaimed. "You guys did this for me?"
"Mike was to keep you out of the house," I nodded. "We wanted you to have a proper birthday."
"How was it making a guest list?" Natalie asked.
"Well, we talked with her dad," Mike nodded. "It was not the talk we wanted to hear, you know? A simple no would've been fine."
"What did he say?" I asked.
"I'll tell you after the party," Alexis nodded.
"Happy birthday," Cas replied, monotone.
We laughed. "You're a little bit late, Cas," I smiled. "Just a little bit though."
