"Chloe!"

Weaving through the hallway became so much harder when you had to actually get somewhere.

Anytime she came close to Chloe's retreating back she would dodge out of the way and she would once again bulldoze over another unsuspecting peer.

"Watch where you're going," sneered the short blonde.

Frantically she tried to gather all of her things off the floor before the girl she decided glaring wasn't the only thing she was going to do.

"Come on Chloe!, that's the third girl I knocked over already. Would you please just wait."

Branwenn thought she saw the glimmer of a smirk flash on Chloe's face, before she bolted around a corner, but she couldn't be sure.

Skidding to a halt in front of their next class Branwenn smirked, "try running away now, Chloe."

Her cheeks burned and she could feel the stares of her peers as she walked to her desk. It was something she had hoped would eventually die down as they got used to her, but right now the only thing she was worried about was Chloe. The one true friend she had made in years.

Rushing to her desk she sat down and turned toward's Chloe's desk with imploring eyes. Unfortunately, Chloe was currently turned away, arms crossed, and foot tapping in an angry gesture.

She winced at the scene, but went on anyway.

"Chloe, look we need to talk I know that I..."

"Branwenn, do you have something you'd like to say to the class," Miss Peters glared from the front of the room and she immediately shrunk back in contrition.

"No," she squeaked out.

With a nod of her head miss peters returned her attention back to the blackboard where she began explaining the cultural nuances of Yuki Onna hierarchy.

sneaking glances over to Chloe, Branwenn noticed she looked exceedingly smug. Rolling her eyes at her friend's pettiness she huffed and began scribbling down notes for class.

Unfortunately, she later realized she had unwittingly drawn a likeness of Liam's eyes only for some reason they were green instead of blue. Hurriedly, she scribbled out the doodle just as the bell for the end of class rang.

Jumping up she bolted for Chloe stopping her just outside the door.

Chloe rolled her eyes, "What do you want?"

"I...I just want to apologize and explain," she pleaded.

Chloe crossed her arms and shook her head, "What is there to explain? You were using me."

She sighed, "Look, can we go somewhere a little more...private?"

Branwenn bit her lip as she waited for Chloe's answer.

After a few moments, Chloe sighed and shook her head, "Alright, but make it quick."

Branwenn could barely contain the smile threatening to break across her face, but a quick look at Chloe's sour face had her sobering instantly. Gesturing for Chloe to follow they made their way to the back of the school after picking up a few things from their lockers.

Taking a seat on a secluded bench in the courtyard, Branwenn wracked her brain for the right words.

It all sounded so simple when she spoke with Liam, but now she realized how absurd she must sound. She couldn't think of a single reason Chloe should believe her. After all they were still relatively knew to each other and she was just a no good Succubus.
