She felt as light as a feather waltzing into the living room of her house. She was so happy she barely noticed her two elder sisters watching her intently.

"Well look who decided to grace us with her presence," the snide comment had her sobering instantly.

Her sister's both sat on the couch, their arms crossed and mirroring stern expressions on their face.

"Oh, Trinity.... Avyanna," she acknowledged with only a slight tremble.

It figured they would catch her tonight. She was not looking forward to the conversation ahead. Of course, with the way she left thing that morning it wasn't exactly a surprise.

"Look about this morning....," she began.

"Save it, I know what you are going to say and after thinking it over...I agree with you," Avyanna spoke slowly.

She couldn't have heard her right, shaking her head she questioned, "You...you agree...with me," her voice sounded disbelieving even to her own ears.

Trinity gave Avyanna an incredulous expression, but with a quick shake of her head, Avyanna had her objections silenced. She looked back to Branwenn with a knowing smile.

"I understand your need for independence and after giving it some thought I think this could be a good thing for you. I know you have been miserable in this school and hopefully you'll come to realize who you really are," she gave a slight smile and commented, "You do look livelier than normal and...happier."

Branwenn was stunned. Who was this and what did she do with her sister? She was suspicious, but couldn't figure out what Avyanna was playing at.

Cautiously she looked to her sisters. Could it really be possible they are okay with this? Maybe they just don't want to deal with it? After all she had already transferred, anyways. Of course, Trinity still looked angry, but then again when isn't she.

"I...thank you.... I think," she stammered.

Avyanna, "Of course dear, I know we have our little spats, but in the end, we are sisters. We have to look after one another. Even if we don't always see eye to eye."

"Yeah...," she said slowly, "Well, it's late I better get to bed. Sorry about fighting with you this morning."

Trinity huffed, but Avyanna nodded, "Don't worry about it, just get some sleep. You'll need it."

She shook her head and headed to the stairs, but Avyanna stopped her one more, "Oh, one second Branwenn. You are still going to the Ball this Saturday, aren't you?"

She blanched, of course. This must be why Avyanna was being so nice. With a sigh she nodded he head. After her sister's show of forgiveness, she couldn't very well make a big deal now, "Yes, Avyanna. I'll go."

Clapping her hands Avyanna smiled brightly, "Great, I'll have your dress ready to try on tomorrow," with a wave of her hand she dismissed Branwenn and went back to talking to Trinity.

Rushing up the stairs Branwenn shut her door and fell to her bed. With a sigh she looked out her window at the starry sky.

"Thank god that's over," She was afraid her sister would question her on her whereabouts tonight, but she seemed satisfied with getting her to go to the ball willingly.

She groaned and buried her face in a pillow, "Stupid ball," she mumbled aloud.

At least she had something much better to look forward to. She smiled recalling the kiss from Liam. It was the most exhilarating thing she had ever experienced, and she found she couldn't wait for more. Thinking of his beautiful face had her blushing more. She was already making plans to run into him at school.

Rolling to her side she contemplated the kiss once more. For a few moments during it she had worried she was feeding off him, but he didn't seem to be affected. Maybe the pills were finally working, and she wasn't craving to feed as much?

Or maybe...it was Liam. Now that she thought about it, he seemed to make her feel more alive than ever. Could she be...in love? She shook her head at the ridiculous thought.

While it was true she had heard that Succubi were sometimes able to control their feeding when they found their true love, it was impossible that was what was happening. She had only known him a day.

Groaning she turned over and decided it was far too late for these thoughts. If she didn't get a hold of herself, she would look no better than a zombie when she finally saw him again. Closing her eyes, she thought of his beautiful face once more and refused to acknowledge the strange change in eye color her subconscious conjured in him.
