So, yah. I hope you guys forgive me. And I decided to re-write the chapters with the scarlet prophecy. So, "Mate Mate Mate Mate. Shut up Oliver no one cares" and "Evil nights, well not really" are going to be re written. Thanks VeronicaHaney2 for voting:) To all the people out there, I'm sorry if you're annoyed by the dark parts of this book. I'm trying to make it better. There's fighting, blood and lots of emotions. Just warning you. Also one last thing, I know the chapter is really short but I couldn't mess with the ending.
"Life is too short to spend time with people who
Suck the happiness out of
You."
Val P.O.V.
He scrambled to his feet. He started to growl at me. I laughed and took a step forwards.
He charged at me, letting his rage control him. I dodged and elbowed his back, pushing him to the ground.
He jumped to his feet and tried to punch me. I slid to the side easily. Okay, either he's getting sloppy or I'm getting faster.
I kicked him again, but he managed to stay on his feet. He tried to punch me, but I dodged again. I tried to kick him, but he used my force against me, pushing me to the ground.
He went to punch my face, but I rolled away at the last second. We both stood up. I was about to knock him down when a knife appeared in his hand. He must have pulled it out.
I tried to jump away but he sunk it into my leg. I accidentally let out a sharp cry of pain, then I used my other leg to kick him back.
He stumbled backwards towards Oliver. I yanked out the knife and held it in me hand threateningly.
He stepped backwards in shock. I growled deeply. In a flash he pulled out another knife and pressed it to Oliver's throat. Oliver's eyes were wide open in fear.
"Drop the knife or I kill him." Nathaniel growled. There was a glint in his eyes, one I hadn't seen in a long time. Insanity. He lost his marbles somewhere along the line, and he's never getting them back.
"I'll do it!!" He yelled, sounding more and more desperate. I watched as he pressed it harder on Oliver's neck. Oliver was shaking his head.
I could see in his eyes, he wanted me to run and never look back. I looked sadly at Oliver. I stepped forwards, but Nathaniel pressed harder, drawing blood.
"Please. Don't hurt him." I begged. Nathaniel shook his head and laughed. Not a happy laugh, but an insane one. One that could make the bravest person shiver in fear.
"I can't do that. He deserves this, I'm just giving you a choice. Your life? Or his? Better choose quickly, I'm not very patient." He laughed maniacally.
"Please." I said quietly, giving him one last chance. "No." He replied, his voice deeper. I looked at Oliver, he was shaking his head, his eyes wide from fear. I dropped my hand down, keeping the knife in my hand. "Drop it." He growled.
I whipped the knife at him. In a sickening thunk, it lodged itself in his neck. Blood sprayed out and he stumbled backwards, dropping the knife in the process.
His hands clamped around his throat and he looked at me in shock. A single tear slid down my cheek. He fell to the ground in a heap.
I walked over to Oliver, hiding my pain. I grabbed the knife Nathaniel dropped. I cut Oliver down then Nico and Dom. They were both still asleep, so I left them together.
I walked away from them. I heard Oliver follow behind me. I tried to sit by a tree alone but Oliver grabbed my wrist. "Thank you." He whispered. I yanked my wrist away from him and looked back.
"I never wanted to do that again, you know." I said brokenly. He wrapped his arms around me comfortingly. "You will never have to again. I promise." He whispered. "I thought that last time. And look how that worked out." I growled, pushing away from him.
"Please Val, don't leave." He begged. "Tell me the truth." I whispered. "That's all I've ever done." He said. "Sure." I replied. "How could I ever lie to you?" He asked. "I'm a monster Oliver. No one can love a monster." I told him.
"You want the truth?" He asked, an edge in his voice. He stepped forwards. "I love you. I've loved you since the day I found you in the woods, growling at me to back off. You aren't a monster Val. You're just broken. Everyone's a little broken." He told me, his voice sounding more convincing with each word.
"I'm shattered. Not broken. Shattered." I replied. He smiled softly. "You can't hide being shattered Val. Let me help you. You're not the only one who's got a few skeletons in their closet." He said quietly, taking one more step.
I stared into his big, chocolate brown eyes. He closed the space between us, kissing me lightly. He pulled his lips from mine and linked our hands together, our fingers intertwined.
"I love you Val, and nothing can change that."
"It only starts to hurt once you pretend it doesn't."
