Chapter Eleven

~Selena’s POV~

The fight died down, after a couple of us girls stepped in. The boys in the fight were sporting injuries. Being Ricky’s girlfriend I had to listen to him whining about his black eye.

“My eye feels like it’s going to burst” Ricky complained, as I played with his head in my lap.

“You’re not going to get any more sympathy from me just because you have a panda eye” I laughed. “Although what you did for me was very nice, I love you for it.”

I leant my lips down to his and pecked him lightly on the lips, and lingered there for a while just to be a tease.

“That’s my reward?” he complained once I had pulled away.

“The rest will come later” I said giving him a cheesy wink.

Sophie came to sit next to me, and looked at Ricky’s eye before smiling wickedly.

“Panda” she laughed.                

“Shut up!” he growled.

“NEW SUBJECT!” Sophie decided.

“I think I need to tan more” I sighed, inspecting my skin.

I hadn’t actually been listening to their conversation, and had just spoke my thoughts like I usually did.

“Pfft! You already have dark skin Selly!” Ricky laughed.

“Yeh, but now I have stupid tan lines!” I complained. “So I need to do some topless sun-baking.”

I didn’t realize the power of my comment until Ricky rolled over onto his stomach to cover up the lower part of his body.

Laughter escaped my mouth, but he should be thankful that Sophie didn’t see it or he would have had a massive go at me.  

“I’M HUNGRY” I complained, steering away from the topic of topless sun-baking.

“Geez you’re always hungry” Sophie complained.

“Yeah, sure you’re not pregnant or something?” Tayah asked coming down with Sienna to sit with us.

“Yeh guys I’ve been keeping a HUGE secret that I haven’t even told Rocky yet” I said sarcastically.

“REALLY?!” Sienna asked, never one to catch the sarcasm.

“No” I said, rolling my eyes.

“Well there are always coconuts” Kat said. “To eat I mean.”

“COME ON SOPHIE!” I said dragging her along with me.

~Sophie’s POV~

I groaned as Selena dragged me off into the jungle to get her a coconut to eat. She didn’t even like coconuts, but it was a good chance to have a d&m with her.

“You sure you’re not pregnant?” I asked her, feeling worried that she was.

“Sure as sure can be, I’m on the PILL!” she yelled, making a couple of birds fly off scared.

“Gee announce it to the world why don’t you” I laughed, rolling my eyes.

“Sorry, love!” Selena laughed.

“How much longer do you have its supply?” I asked. “This could all end badly you know.”

“I have another five packets in my bag, so five months” Selena said.

“Let’s hope we aren’t here that long” I sighed. “I hope we get out of here soon.”

But Selena was caught completely off guard by something hanging from the tree, I thought maybe Ricky was hanging up there naked or something, but it was only a coconut.

“Okay go get it” I said, treating her like a dog.

She ran up to the coconut hanging idly by, and stretched out her arm to grab it from the tree. But something beat her to it.

“OI THAT’S MINE!” Selena yelled, at the little monkey in the tree.

“Calm down Selena, it’s just a monkey let him have it, there are plenty more to choose” I said.

“NO! I want that one!” she sulked, wrestling the monkey for the coconut.

They fought for that damn coconut for about ten minutes until the monkey ended up being the bigger person, and swung away leaving Selena with the coconut.

“YES!” she yelled, holding the coconut up like a grand prize.

“The monkeys the bigger person in that fight” I sighed.

“Monkey’s aren’t people!” Selena laughed.

“Well…” I whispered under my breath.

We walked back to the camp together where everyone was doing their own thing. Sienna was watching Casey and Tayah in full on snog, and Toby was hiding behind a tree almost as though he was spying on her.

Selena walked over to Ricky and I followed her, having nothing better to do.

“Ricky where’s the chopping coconut thingy?” she asked, looking around.

“We don’t have one” Ricky replied. “Want me to get it open for you?”

Selena tutted, tapping her foot on the sand.

“Some things I can do on my own thanks love” she scolded, heading over to a rock.

It suddenly became very clear to me that humans were descended from apes when I watched Selena trying to get that coconut open.

She started off very calm, but got angrier and angrier as the coconut wouldn’t crack, and she couldn’t get the inside out.

Then she started grunting as she banged the rock harder and harder. The grunts really sounded like the ‘oo’ noises that monkeys made when they got angry, and the picture was really clear.

Finally she cracked the coconut so hard that all the milk spilled out into the sand and she couldn’t even eat the damn thing.

“Who wants to go and get another one with me?” she called.

I was definitely not for watching her battle another monkey again. I’d rather stay and chill.
