Chapter Fourteen
Hannah’s POV
I felt bad about no one believing Jenna, but I knew for a fact that it was true. I had to be there for her.
Kelly had been welcomed back into the group and Toby had practically been exiled, and the rest of the island seemed to be going pretty well. Apart from the fact that there was so much tension in the air.
“I’M HUNGRY!” yelled Selena.
It wasn’t un-normal to have her being like this, she was always complaining about being hungry it was a wonder that Jenna wasn’t like this, and pregnant women were always hungry weren’t they?
“Have a coconut” I suggested.
“NO!” Selena yelled. “I’m sick of damn coconuts.”
“Well there isn’t much else” I said trying to sound nice.
“We need to get off this island” she complained.
It was then that the boys skidded over, all looking giddy with excitement. I couldn’t wait to hear what the news was.
“We have a plan!” they yelled happily.
“What?” Selena asked.
“Boats often go past the other side of the island” Casey said. “We’ve been noticing them lately.”
“If we make a big enough help sign then we can get off the island” Ricky continued.
“We can go home?” I asked feeling happier then I had felt in a long time.
“Yes we can” Tyson said, kissing my cheek. “You excited?”
“Yeh I…”
“Lets move it then!” Selena ordered, interrupting me.
“We’ll start tomorrow” Jack said. “Then we can have the whole day.”

We all woke up early the next morning and went to the other side of the island to begin our work.
Us girls went and collected massive bundles of dry weeds, and strung them up while the guys dug massive holes for the foot holes of the reeds.
The plan was to create a massive sign saying ‘HELP’ and once it was dark lighting it up for passing boats to see.
It took us quite a while to do it, and by the time it was finished it was dark enough to light. We actually worked as a team together, and we were all quite pleased with our work.
“LET’S LIGHT IT UP!” Ricky yelled.
Casey started banging stones together getting the occasional spark, then the whole thing lit up.
It looked quite pretty but it was hot at the same time, and I had to turn away.
“TEAM WORK!” Tayah yelled, hi-fiving everyone.
Everyone seemed to be celebrating, and I hadn’t seen anyone forget what had happened and act normal in a long time.
As the flames burnt on the ‘P’ began to malfunction and the loop fell down making the work look like ‘Hell’ instead of ‘Help.’
“Oh hell!” cursed Tyson.
We all began laughing, but then there was a horn in the distance.
“A BOAT!” Sienna yelled, running into the water.
We all started screaming out to the boat that was making its way towards where the flames of our sign was.
We all cheered and ran into the water with Sienna.
“I thought you’d need to get off this hell-hole” the boat driver said.
“Thank you” Sophie said.
“Thank you so much” Kat said.
We all climbed aboard, leaving the island behind and never wanting to be so isolated again.
Then we sailed off home.
