*Calder's POV*

While I'm sleeping it all comes back to me. Ever since I mentioned my teacher a few days ago I've been having nightmares about it non-stop.

"Like this?" I ask her.

"Yes! Good job Calder! You're doing great with your powers!" she replies with a clap of her hands.

"Thank you for teaching me mom!" I yell and run to her to hug her tight. Suddenly a dark shroud appeared behind her. I gasp. The darkness consumes her smiling figure. I shield my eyes from the purple and black light. Once the cloud disappears, my mom stands in front of me looking like a hideous witch. A monster has corrupted her.

"Mom!" I cry.

"Oh honey, your mother is GONE!" the creature yells through my mom's pink lips.

"What did you do? Give me my mother back you MONSTER!" I screamed defiantly. I summon an ice crystal sword in my hand. It crackles loudly and I hold it up in front of me. I position myself into a fighting stance. She starts walking toward me-one step at a time. The enemy's gait is slow and intimidating.

"Oh, I wouldn't do that. You'll kill me yes. But....you'll also kill..your mother," the monster taunts me and whispers the last word in my ear. My eyes grow wide and I gasp. I step back immediately only to have the monster catch up to my figure. She grabs my wrist and yanks it so that the top of the sword is now aimed at my mom's heart. I try my best to jerk myself away from the creature but her grip is too strong. "Oh, well, you could kill me if you want to. It would be so worth to see you kill your own mother and live in misery. Don't you think?" she murmurs with a wicked smile on her face. Before I can blink she thrusts my hand forward and a piercing scream fills the air.

My eyes fly open and I sit up in my bed. My breathing is quick and rapid. There is sweat on my back and chest. I search around me for the creature but I realize I am in my room. I sighed and laid down once more. It was just a dream. My body calms down as I just lay there and listen to the tinkering sounds of the crickets.

*Celina's POV*

I wake up from my sleep and stretch on my bed. The bed was comfier than it looked! I slept soundly like a bear in hibernation. I didn't want to get up just yet because my body was still asleep. So, I just lay on my bed and stare up at the ceiling.

I had woken up in the middle of the night to get a drink of water when I heard panting in Calder's room. I peeked in there and saw him breathing heavily on the bed. He kept mumbling something but because of the distance between him and me, I couldn't hear it. I didn't want to seem like a stalker so I stepped away and just went back to bed.

I've been thinking about it before I fell asleep again. What was he dreaming about? Had he come through a bad life too? Suddenly, I remembered the time Calder mentioned his teacher. It could be about the teacher. Just who was this person though and where was she now?

"Rise and shine Celina!" Calder yells out as he comes in with a tray of food in his hands. He abruptly stops and stares at me in wonder. "Wow, you're actually awake! Usually you are snoring away," Calder says with his eyes wide open.

"Oh shut up," I reply and slap him lightly on the shoulder.

"Careful! I have your food right here. So, if it drops, not my fault," he inclines and sets the tray on the dresser next to the bed.

"So, did you sleep well Calder?" I ask with caution.

"Oh yeah, I slept great! How about you?" he replies. He's not going to mention the nightmare he had, I realize. I don't want to push him so I answer his question instead.

"Yeah I slept great, too!" I answer with a smile. I pick up the tray of food and examine what he has brought me today. I notice there are eggs, bacon, toast with butter, and an orange juice.
"Wow Calder! This looks delicious! Where do you get all of this food?" I ask him as I dig in to my breakfast.

"Oh, I get these foods from the supermarket near here. They sell everything so I can make anything," Calder replies.

"Where do you get the money from?" I ask with suspicion as I lean toward him with my eyebrows raised. I drop my fork and stay there.

"What? Are you inclining that I may be stealing money?!!" he cries out with his hands showing an exasperating gesture.

"Yes, I am," I answer with no hesitation. He stares back at me as if I have a mushroom growing out of my head.

"Ok, I'll tell you where I get the money. No, I do not steal, most of the time, instead-" Calder whispers the last part.

"Huh? What did you say? Did you just say that you don't steal money most of the time??" I ask with an angry mom tone in my voice.

"Nonono I was joking! Anyways I have a huge sash of money saved in my room. I used to have a job here but then quit when I noticed someone like me was out there. Back then I didn't use money for anything since I felt like saving it. But, now I have a ton of money to use on clothes, and food," Calder explains.

"You worked on your own here? But how? I thought I was the only one who could see you!" I exclaim.

"Yes that might be true but we can sometimes take the human form for a while. There is a certain potion that does it. I used one every day at work since it wears off after a couple of hours. And you were seen because you didn't know you were a wizard yet," Calder replies, answering my question.

"So that's how it is.." I murmur to myself. I pick up my fork again and stab it into my eggs. I start eating again.

"Ok, we have more training today so come to the room again once you're finished eating," he calls out as he leaves my room.

"Ok I'll be there in a moment!" I call back to him. I sip my orange juice and set it back down on the tray. I may not have found out what happened to Calder's teacher, but I found out a lot about us 'warriors.'
