*Calder's POV*
As soon as the woman left the room, I run to Celina. I see her lying down on the floor barely breathing. It seems like she is a fish that has just been thrown out of its habitat. I run over to her and shake her to wake her up.
"Celina! Celina wake up!" I yell. I pick her up gently and rush to my room. She still lays unconscious on the bed when I lay her down on it.
I run to the bathroom and get a towel and drench it with water. I rush back outside and dab the wet towel onto her forehead. She seems so calm and peaceful in her deep slumber.
Soon, I am just gazing at her from afar at the end of the bed and thinking about what had just happened. The risks are too high to stay here any longer. This place is getting exposed by the enemy more and more the more time we spend here. I once again look over at Celina with a concerned look on my face. Then, at that moment I make a proclamation in my head.
We are going to run away from this monster-luring hideout.

*Celina's POV*
My head is spinning as my eyes meet a blank-looking ceiling. At least it's not a bright light this time. I blink several times and try to get the dizziness out of my brain. Once again I'm in a bed after being unconscious. I slowly sit up once the nauseous feeling had left me. Turning my body, I see Calder sleeping on a chair at the corner of the room. I glance out the window and see that the sun is barely visible anymore. It seems that it was becoming nighttime so I guess it made sense that Calder had fallen asleep.
So, my body gradually lays back down on the soft mattress on its own accord and I stare up at the dark, plain ceiling.
You know those moments when you start to question your life? Well, now was one of those moments.
I seem to be the one that always falls in the end. I feel like a weak person who can't even fight back other villains. So far, every single time I duel against an enemy I seem to be the one that gets rescued by Calder. I'm starting to feel as if I'm a burden to him. How are we supposed to continue out path when one of the two warriors is a vulnerable mouse.
My gaze then lands on Calder and I smile at the sight of him peacefully sleeping.
However, while I am thinking this through and sorting out the chaos in my mind, I hear a huge 'smash' in the hall. Calder immediately jumps to his feet and wildly stumbles around and grabs a brown, leather suitcase. He noticed I'm awake and motions his hand in a 'come here' signal. I carefully slide out of the bed and there is still a lingering pain in my ankles but I can walk now. I clumsily slip on my shoes.
Turning my head abruptly, I hear a loud noise of glass shattering. Calder has broken the glass! He then puts on his shoes as well. He grabs the suitcase, grabs my hand, and we leap out of the window onto the prickly green grass. We run through the darkness of the night to the parking lot.
I glance over to Calder and he seems so calm. It's almost as if he knew this would happen all along and had planned everything already.
Once we reach a corner we stop and peek over the edge. The parking lot is just up ahead but there are few monsters lurking around.
"Ok, Celina, try to use a fire grenade to catch their attention elsewhere," Calder commands me. I nod in approval. I conjure up a fire grenade and throw it away from the car in the lot and towards the building. It explodes and the monsters dash toward the mass of red orange and black. We quickly sneak towards the car. We hop in and Calder starts the engine. However, the monsters now see us and start stomping toward our car. One of them is super fast and throws a punch toward the car. It makes a dent in the car. I scream and Calder steps on the gas. We reverse quite quickly and then he makes a sharp turn around and we race out of there.
We laugh and sigh in relief from the experience. We have actually escaped from all those monsters! Calder and I ride into the night.
Few hours later...
"We can sleep here for the night," Calder informs me and stops the car in front of a forest. I nod and yawn at the same time as we drag ourselves out of the car.
Calder opens the trunk of the car and takes out his suitcase. He then closes the trunk and we trudge our way into the dark, eerie forest. After a few minutes of walking, we see an empty patch of grass with trees surrounding it.
"Let's sleep here," I tell Calder and he sets down his suitcase on the grass. He opens it and I see a bunch of camping supplies in there. I help him take out a tent, sleeping bags, and a lantern. We set up the tent and lay out the sleeping bags. Then, Calder used a match to light the lantern. Finally, we all get cozy in our blue sleeping bags and sleep. Since we are so exhausted from running away we are out like a light in seconds.
The next day...
I slowly wake up and see the tent above me. Oh right, we slept in the forest last night. I sit up groggily and rub my eyelids. I'm still half asleep. I look over to Calder to check if he is still asleep. He's not there. I figure that he's outside and slowly crawl out of the tent.
"Good morning Calder!" I yell but when I look up, he's not there either. Instead I see the lantern from last night. Underneath the lantern is a piece of paper. I walk over to it still not know what is going on. I pick up the lantern and see that the paper has writing on it. With the lantern still in my hand, I then pick up the slightly rumpled piece of paper. I read the first sentence and freeze.
We have taken your companion, Calder, hostage.
