"Yes."

"Oh, thank god.. I missed calling you my boyfriend," I said. Jeremy smirked.

"It's been one day."

"Two if you count the split!"

"This is pathetic. We need each other way too much."

"I'm aware."

"Babe?" he asked, poking my chest. I stared at him. "Umm.. Well.. Last night.. While you were sleeping.. I uh.. I wrote you something."

"What? Like a cute paragraph? Let me see."

"It's not a paragraph."

"Did you write me a song?"

"Kinda. It's a poem," Jeremy said.

"Well...?"

"Well...?" he echoed.

"Let me read it," I said.

"No, it's bad.."

"Then why did you... Jeremy, let me read it!" I said. He shook his head shyly.

"No.. No.." he said. I stared at him. "Can I at least try to make it a song first?"

"I don't want to be serenaded. Just give me the poem."

"Okay.. Fine.." he said, going up the stairs. I followed him. "Just don't laugh at me, okay?"

"I'm not gonna laugh at you, Jeremy."

"Whatever. You haven't read it yet."

He picked up a folded piece of paper and handed it to me.

I went to sleep thinking about you
And I woke up just the same
You made it so hard for me to close my eyes
Don't worry babe, this will be alright in the end
And I'll be your everything

"Jeremy..." I began.

"Go on. Tell me how bad it was."

"It was really good."

He stood up from the bed quickly. "See, I told you I shouldn't have- Wait, what did you say?"

"I loved it."

"Oh.." Jeremy smiled. "Well.. I wrote it during a little insomnia. I figured it wouldn't be very good."

"It was really good. I love you, Jer," I said, throwing myself into his arms. He laughed a little and held me close to him.

"I love you too," he said.

"Ya know.. I think you should make this into a song.."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"You have to help me, though.." he said. I shook my head.

"You got this, babe."

"I'll try to work on it. No promises.."

I rolled my eyes and ran my fingertips through his beard, stroking his cheeks.

He sniffed, bringing my attention up to his eyes, which were watering. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing..."

"Jeremy, what's wrong?" I asked. He smiled.

"I'm just so goddamn happy. I don't know!" He laughed. "I don't know!"

"You're crazy, boy.."

"I know..." he said. "I just.. I'm happy.. Ya know?"

"Yeah."

"I've.. I've completely realized you were right. After we sat down.. and now I know so many useless facts about you.. It's.. I wish we would've gone slower in the first place."

"Me too.. But we were greedy. We wanted each other."

"I wouldn't say we were greedy. Maybe horny."

"I dunno what we were. But we did go too fast. Way too fast."

"Yeah. It all happened too much too soon," Jeremy said.

"I love that song!"

"I know, it's been stuck in my head all day," he said. I smiled and kissed him again.

"Can I have my ring back?" I asked shyly.

"Will you marry me?"

"Yes, Jeremy!" I said, sighing. He got the ring from his dresser and slid it back on my finger.

He pulled me into his embrace. I knew who he was.. I knew who was holding me.
