Jeremy threw a book at me.

"Ow!" I called.

He tossed his head back and groaned. "Just pick one, babe!"

"I'm trying to!" I said defensively.

He looked at me as I flipped through the pages slowly. "Sometime today, cutie.." he said. I glared at him.

"Maybe this would go a lot faster if you helped," I said.

"Benji, I am helping! We just don't have enough time and it's stressing you out! Hell, it's stressing me out! You can't plan a wedding in two months!"

"This is all too much," I said, throwing the books down and getting up.

-

"Calm down!" Jeremy threw himself on top of me. "Calm the fuck down!"

I wiggled under him. "I'll kill the bitch!"

"Benji, listen.." he said. "Calm... down."

"No! That bitch–"

"Stop calling my mom a bitch!" he said.

I guess after all that happened with him and his mom, and the fact that she wouldn't let us get married, she was still his mom and he still respected her.

"Fine."

He let me sit up, but he still sat on my legs.

"I just want you to be my husband."

"You don't think we should wait?" he asked. I shook my head. "Okay. Then, let's go for it."

-

A pan crashed against the floor.

"God damnit, Benji! Get it together!" Jeremy shouted. I looked over at him. He was sitting at the table with his laptop, rubbing his temples. I sniffed and put the pan on the stove.

"I'm trying!" I said. Jeremy just sighed and rolled his eyes. "Don't get an attitude with me!"

"I'm not!" he said.

"Yes, you are!" There were tears in my eyes.

"I'm just stressed out," he said. I nodded a little. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay."

"Please don't cry." I didn't reply. "Come here," he said, patting his lap. He was wearing boxers and a t-shirt, and his hair was all messy.

I walked over and sat in his lap, looking down at the computer screen. "What's all this?"

"I'm shopping.." he said simply.

"For dresses?"

"My best man is a girl," he said. "I forgot to tell you, didn't I?"

I nodded. "That's cool though. I don't know who mine is gonna be.. I mean, I don't have any friends."

"You and Kaleb have gotten close since we started planning."

"Well, yeah.. I guess so. I just thought he made you uncomfortable."

"He used to, but.." Jeremy shrugged. "Not so much anymore."

I smiled and leaned down to kiss him.

"Okay, so if these eggs come out burnt, it's your fault for making me try!" I said. He just laughed.

"If you burn them, I'll make you pancakes."

"Now I want them to burn!" I said. He stood up and went to get the pancake mix.

"We can just have both anyway." I smiled.

-

When my lips finally met Jeremy's, it all fell away.

All the stress of putting the wedding together, all the drama with his parents not wanting to sign for us to get married, all the worrying that something would go wrong. It was all gone. It was in the past now.

"Benji, I love you to Pluto and back," he said. I smiled and buried my head against him.

"I love you to infinity and back."

I loved being here at this moment. I hated thinking about the past couple months. It irritated me. It still irritates me. I just don't think about it.

Instead, I thought of the future. Did he want kids? What did he want to do for a living? Where were we gonna live?

Well, all of those questions were answered... eventually.

Jeremy and I never had a true honeymoon, but we did have a little getaway. We stayed in a hotel room in Orlando just to get away from everyone for the night.

Jeremy had me pinned against the bed when he cocked his head and started talking.

"Ya know.. We should get a dog."

"Why?"

"Well, we're getting our own place soon.. When you turn eighteen.. And we need a child of our own... A little furry child."

"Can we get a big dog?" I asked.

"Sure," he said.

"Can we get a Pit Bull-German Shepard mix?"

"If that's what you want, baby." He sat on my pelvis.

"Well, all I really want is you."

"You got me in the palm of your hand, and you know it," he said. I smiled and nodded as he lowered his head to kiss me.
