"Okay.." Kevin relaxed a bit and walked off. Jeremy looked at me, frightened.
"You gotta start standing up to him," I said.
"N- Yeah.. Yeah, I do," Jeremy said.
-
I sat on the table in front of Jeremy in geometry. He looked up at me and smiled, tapping his pen against the table.
Neil walked in, and I jumped off the table apace.
"Why were you on the table?" Neil asked.
"Obviously he was about to get up there and strip," Jeremy said, rolling his eyes.
"Yeah. Duh, Neil," I said. Neil didn't say anything as he pulled his homework out.
"I hate this class. This old woman can go shove this damn homework up her fucking asshole," Jeremy grumbled angrily, scribbling "Jeremy McKinnon" at the top of his paper.
"Damn, Jeremy. Chill," I said. He sighed angrily, slamming his fist against the table. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing!" Jeremy hissed. I grabbed his arm; he pushed me back.
"Jeremy, what's wrong?" Neil asked. Jeremy didn't reply.
I leaned over in Jeremy's ear and whispered, "Baby, what's wrong?"
"Kevin called me a pillow biter," he whined quietly.
"He did what?" Neil asked. Jeremy shook his head.
"Why did he do that?" I asked. Jeremy sighed.
"I accidentally stepped on his foot in the hall."
"You stepped on his foot... And he called you that?" I asked. Jeremy nodded, staring down at the paper. He flipped the paper over and began to sketch a cube.
"Here, copy mine," I said, handing him my homework. "Quick, the bells about to-" The sound of the bell ringing cut me off. Jeremy took my homework and scribbled the answers onto his paper.
"I love ya," I whispered to him as the teacher walked in. He nodded and blew me a kiss behind his hand.
"What-" Neil began, but was cut off by the teacher.
-
"Benji!" Neil said, walking up to me. I nodded. "What's up with Jeremy?"
"What do you mean?"
"For the past two months, he's been.. I dunno.. Not ignoring me, but he won't hang out with me," Neil said, refusing to keep eye contact with me.
"He has?" I asked, feeling my face turn red as I closed my locker door.
"Yeah. I ask if he wants to hang out and he.. he always says no. Did he mention anything about me? Maybe I did something wrong.." he mumbled.
"No, I just think he's been busy. Ya know, he's kinda struggling with geometry-"
"He doesn't study whether he's failing or passing," Neil said, interrupting me.
"Oh.. Um.." I stood there. "I have to get to class," I said, quickly walking off.
"It.. It's lunch.." Neil said. I quickly walked to the cafeteria, sitting down next to Jeremy. He smiled at me shyly.
"Why are you acting all bashful?" I asked, grinning at him.
"I dunno. Just thinking about us in bed this morning. All cozy and stuff," he said, smirking. "Then showering.. Oh, and peeking down your boxers!"
