"Y'all want some grits?" I asked the kids as they sat at the kitchen table.

They nodded.

"Where My-My?" Nya asked, rubbing her eyes.

"My sleep baby," I say. She nodded, yawning.

I went over to the fridge, pulling out some eggs and got pancake mix and grits out of the cabinet. I cracked three eggs, battering up pancake mix.

"Daddy, this good," Nichayah said. I nodded, eating off of my plate.

"Thank you babygirl," I said.

Nya coughed.

"You okay baby?" I asked. She nodded, glaring at Chayah. I noticed, but didn't say nothing. I was gon handle that later.

"Hey babies!" Maya cooed, kissing the kids on their forehead.

"Hey mommy," the twins said.

"Hey My-My," Nya said smiling.

"How are y'all this morning?" Maya asked.

"Good," Nichayan said with a mouth full of food.

Maya laughed.

"Boy you know you need to swallow your food before you talk," she said, sitting next to me.

I looked at her.

"Good morning," she said, scrolling through her phone.

"Good morning," I said softly, continuing to eat.

___________

"I came from drop tops and old school Chevy's
Dope boys rollin' through, shittin' on ya heavy
Fifteens in the trunk beatin' down your block
Only 4 years old when Biggie got shot
I remember playing on the block, hanging on the block
Young niggas slanging on the block, getting off them rocks
Now we livin' better now, Coogi sweater now
Weather still getting colder, we could change the weather now
But I..."

I vibed to my track as it played back in the studio.

"Came up in criminal days
Living these criminal ways, what can I say
Hugging the block every day
Grindin' and making a way
And that I pray, for better days
That it don't be the same tomorrow
Now I celebrate my sorrows with this bottle
And say"

I sung along to the track, nodding my head.

Sean stopped the track.

"How you like that yung?" he asked. I nodded, rubbing my chin.

"I like how it sound. Sounds just like how I wrote it," I say nodding.

"You want to hear the rest of the track?" he asked.

"Yeah fam," I say, lounging back into my chair.

The kids played on the playground as I sat on a bench, filming them on my phone.

"Mommy, look!" Nichayah say, sliding down a pole and landing into a split. I gasped, stopping the video.

"Nichayah Michelle, where you learn that?" I exclaimed. She laughed.

"TT Bahja. Oops, I wasn't 'posed to say anything," she pouted.

"I'm kicking Bahja's ass," I said to myself.

"Well don't do it anymore," I said. She nodded.

"Yes ma'am," she said, climbing back into the slide.

Oh yes, my kids were well mannered. The kids jumped off the playground and ran up to me.

"Y'all ready?" I ask. They all nodded.

We all walked away from the park.
