Sally had to be joking, there was no she could have told Lucas that I was meeting him today.

Don't get me wrong, Lucas is hot but the last thing on my mind right now is getting into another relationship,not after James at least.

I liked doing things for myself, when I was eight years old I wanted to cook my own food which ended in me receiving a burn on my leg. When I was fifteen my mother made me date her best friend's son Larry, something about him not expecting too much from Me.
I did everything I could on till he was tired of me.

When I failed it had to be because of my own doing, my mother was forced to marry a man chosen by her family on till she rebelled and got a divorce.

I am my mother's child.

With Lucas smile, I have to be my father's girl tonight.

My father would go with the flow, do what he was told. Surprisingly mother hated the idea, she wanted him to fight and oppose on her decisions.

Going out to meet Lucas for drinks couldn't be that bad.

Sally move her eyes from my feet upward, stopping at my eyes, smiling while looking into my eyes.

Sally standing here looking at we brings back the memories of when I was 13 and went on my first date.

"Mommy may I? " what if she says no. Johnny had ask me to the movies a few days ago and it was up to my mother to decide if I should go.

My father would want to meet him thinking that there was no man good enough for his little princess, I prefer to ask my mom.
She would always sit Me down and give me her 'when you get attracted to the opposite sex'  speech.

"May you what dear? "she search my face looking confuse.

The idea of going out with Johnny makes me smile, I wouldn't classify myself to be the prettiest or the most popular girl in class but Johnny chose me.

"uhmn... There's this guy... He asked me to the movie so I was--" mother's words slipped mine and brought me to a stop

"Sure, just remember not every guy wants you for you some just want what you might be offering, I trust..." I could continue her speech for her

"Earth to Lucy" Sally wave her right hand in front of my face

"Yeah, am ready"

~~~
The smell of coffee graces my nostrils, this was really happening. Lucas's turn his attention from the waitress in front of him and with his eyes locking with mine.
I move over to where he is sitting and and stumble down on the leader seat across from him.
"Glad to see you decided to join me"
I didn't have much of a choice actually.
"uhm... Yeah"
He reaches for the menu, making my eyes glue to his torso. He moves his eyes from the menu and shots me a curious glare.
If it had been James here I wouldn't have to think for a second before ordering both our favorites.
"So... What are you majoring? "
He goes for the typical question everyone asks a college student on the first date...wait this isn't a date, is it?
" Creative writing"
People usually didn't have to give me a second glance to identify that I was a soon to be writer. Mom would boast with her friend that I had it in me from birth.
"you attend college? "
He looks a little older than me, maybe early twenties.
" yeah, the same one you attend"
Smiling to myself I nod to him not being able to respond otherwise.
"Are you ready to order now? " the waitress asks
She wears a black knee length skirt and a white t-shirt, her name tag above her breast reads Genie.
She smiles at Lucas as he makes his order.
" Just coffee"
I never practiced eating on the first date... Why do I keep calling it that?
Genie makes her way back into the direction she came from.
Lucas runs his hands through his hair, with it falling right back into place.
"Why did you want to see me? " He asks me
I cough at his question, Sally said... Wait... Sally told him I wanted to see him!
"uhm...what?"
"You sent me a text message saying I should meet you here"
That was preposterous, Sally would have never... This isn't her place.
"Sally told me you wanted to meet with me"
A puzzled look replace his comfortable expression.
Why not just make the best out of this night.
"You didn't send the text message?"
I nod my head and stare at his narrow eyes. He stands from his seats and I follow.
"Wait, that doesn't mean this can't continue"
Whatever I'm doing better be for the best. He turns to face me and a small smile appears on his face as he sits down.
He runs his hands through his hair once again as Genie place or orders before us.
~~
The laughter of both of us fills the parking lot in front of my dorm as we share jokes of all sorts.
"How about lunch tomorrow? Lucas asks through his laughter
This night when far better than I expected and I look forward to another one as such.
I nod in agreement, he moves over to pull the drivers door and hurry over to pull the passengers side that I was in.
He shots me his award winning smile as we stare at each other.
"Thank you...for a night well spent" I say breaking the silence
A few hours got me so soft and dependent on some guy I barely know. It didn't disturb be, because I was tired of depending on myself.
"No, thank you"
We continue our silence, not awkward silence, more like comfortable silence.
He moves his hand to the back of my ear and my body tenses. He brings back his hand and show me a chocolate, I laugh at his silly but sweet trick as he places the chocolate in my hand.
"I'll be on my way"
I want nothing more than for him to stay but I know that I'm becoming too attached.
"Yeah, goodnight" I flash him a smile which he returns and heads to his car
I stand on the step of the dorm entrance and watch as he pulls out of the parking lot.
I have that little feeling that I felt the first time James and I went on a date.
A smile across my face as I remember my night with Lucas, Sally was in for it and I hope she knows it.
