Chapter 1: How It All Began
My name is Arlia Fayonnete Aurora Borealis and this is my story. It is a story of life and death, good verses evil, and a powerful struggle to save my world. If I had made any of the wrong decisions not only my world would have been destroyed, but so would the entire universe.
It all began when I was born you could say my birth was the cause of it even. The War had just begun between the Faltraen, an evil race, and the allies of the Fae. This is because the day I was born was the day that the Faltraen decided to kill off the entire royal bloodline of the Fae and now the Fae were slowly dying off. Your probably wondering how this could happen, how the death of one family could destroy an entire race. Well the Fae were different from the other races because unlike the rest only a direct descendant of the first Fae or the royal bloodline could rule the Fae because there are many secrets about the Fae that the royals are born knowing. These secrets are dangerous to hold and can never be brought out from the royals because they could end up helping people like the Faltraen destroy or control the entire universe. Unfortunately these secrets were key to the Fae's survival so now slowly the entire Fae population is dying off.
This is the start of my tale but not exactly the begining. Everything truly began about a month before my 16th birthday. It was a special day for me and my adopted mother. But this day also changed me for better or worse I would later on find out. So let me begin my story where it all began.
"Arlia Fayonnete Aurora get downstairs right this instant," my mother called up the stairs. I ignored her and went back to getting ready for today.
"Arlia when I said right this instant I meant in now hurry up if your late to school again today then I will not let you go to Myra's party this weekend," mom yelled up to me cutting me off from my thoughts.
"I'm coming mom just give me a moment to fix my hair," I called back down. My hair is my pride and joy its exactly the same as the deepest pink in the northern lights tinged with the colors within. Actually in the past Arlia was the name they gave the women who appeared within the Northern lights. But my violet-aqua eyes contrast the color of my hair giving me a mysterious look. Giving my hair one last swipe I finished and practically flew down the stairs.
"Good morning mom," I said smiling.
"Good morning Arlia seriously you need to stop drifting off into space in the mornings your almost away late for school recently whats wrong?" mom asked.
"I want you to tell me what my parents were because they obviously weren't sorcerers," I said surprising both myself and mom.
"Look honey I told you that you have to figure it out on your own your mother swore me to absolute secrecy from every one making me bind it with my magic meaning I can't even tell you. Once you figure out the truth for yourself then I can explain everything, but until then I can not reveal it," she answered I should have known I asked her this question once every 2 years since I was 5 and the answer has always been the same.
"Whatever I have to go bye," I didn't even bother to eat I never could eat after she refused to tell me anything.
I guess I would just have to figure it out on my own I just don't understand why mom can't tell me anything its just what race I belong to. She acted as if I was suppose to automatically now it, but it was as if something was suppressing me from my whole powers. As if someone wanted to keep me from the truth either to protect me or for their own purposes, or my mind didn't think I was ready to know yet.
