Chapter 5: Why Is No One Treating Me Differently?
When I woke up the next morning I was pissed. How could she not tell me that my father is a Faltrean. Did she think if I knew that I would be angry or become evil like all the Faltrean are. Plus who and what was my mother before she died she obviously wasn't a Faltrean, so what was she?
"Arlia are you alright, Sylver called from outside my door. Why is she here... oh wait today's the day that I start as Sylver's guardian.
"Yeah I'm fine my lady I'll be out in a minute," I called back.
Now that my post officially starts I will not call her by her fits name its just the way I am. When I'm working I'm completely formal and from now on I'll be working all the time. See the school expects a lot from me since I'm the top student so now of course they will expect a lot from Sylver the only person to last more than a minute fighting me.
Since I'm now the Royal Captain of Princess Sylver of the Pixie Elves I now have to wear my armor everywhere. The thing is that until the Fae Royalty was attacked the most elite guard of students would automatically go to the heir of the Fae throne, but now we have to have these tournaments to decide who is best suited for each team.
You see the last person to hold the title of Warrior Queen was the first Fae Queen none since her none until me were worthy of the title. A Warrior Queen has to not only be strong and skilled in battle, by she also must be kind, smart, trustworthy, and dedicate her life to finding the truth behind her powers.
You see until Clarrisa of the Fae there were only Royal consorts to the Fae Kings. But Clarrisa was the only heir of the Fae throne and was sent to the school to prove that she was worthy enough to gain the title of Queen of the Fae's after a thousand years of there only being male rulers. So Clarrisa proved to all the she earned it and was named the Warrior Queen of the Fae's. She wasn't the first Warrior Queen, but she was the only one for 16 thousand years.
"Good morning My Princess," I said opening the door.
"Good morning Warrior Queen," she replied. See the thing is that if a Warrior Queen is protecting a royal they are usually called Warrior Queen by everyone as soon as they take up their role of guardian.
"Princess Sylver, Warrior Queen. We apologize for being late," Calica and Jermaya said running towards us.
"Since it is the first day I will let it go, but from now on one of you must be with the Princess at all times. Do I make myself clear," I paused until they nodded their understanding, "good and Princess from now on I don't want you leaving your room unless if one of us is with you or if you are with your brother."
"Yes Warrior Queen," she answered me.
"Now that that's all settled we better hurry up to class Princess. We have much to do today," the four of us walked off.
I walked beside the Princess making sure everyone could see the sacred circlet that was given to each Warrior Queen when they were crowned and the Sword of the Thitala. An ancient sword that has been passed down to each Royal Captain from the begining of the school. Most people we passed bowed or curtsied to me in respect. I was the first female to ever be named Royal Captain and add that to the fact that I am crowned as the Warrior Queen even Royals showed respect to me.
"Warrior Queen. I was wondering if I could talk to you for a minute," Lord Galray asked stepping in front of us.
"I'm sorry Lord Galray, but right now I need to take the Princess to the class. Please wait until a later time," I told him.
"Alright Warrior Queen," he replied bowing as he moved away.
It is so strange though. Everyone is acting like they didn't hear the relevation last night as if they didn't care that I was half Faltrean. They seemed to not care that Carnala had basically admitted that if I embraced my Faltrean side I would destroy the whole world.
"Calica. Why is everyone still showing me respect. They should be shunning me or turning away in fear?"
"It's because we all knew you before. Sure you might have Faltrean blood, but you have never even done something remotely evil. You could not have been crowned Warrior Queen or passed the trial if you would end up turning evil of your own free will. Besides it's not like your the Faltrean Princess or a Princess of another kingdom. We all know that if the blood of Faltrean Royalty is mixed with another royal line that you would be dead. Besides you have save the lives of at least half of the students here why would they shunn you for something you have no control over," she told me gently.
As soon as we walked into our first class all the students and even the teacher stood up and bowed to me. It's like they are trying to tell me that they will trust me no matter what which is why I cried later on I never mention for it to happen it just did.
Even if I don't really understand why I'm still being shown respect. I do know that I will have my revenge on King Faltaya of the Faltreans. Before he became King the Faltreans were a peaceful race, but 100 years ago Faltaya took the Faltrean throne from his father.
In order to keep the throne he killed the black leopard queen and gained immortality. Which is a taboo in our world and upsetted the balance of nature. The only one who can kill Faltaya now is his own descendant. Which means that Faltaya will live as long as his children or his childrens children do not betray him. Until Faltaya is dead our world will slowly spiral down to ruin!
