Chapter 13: The Picture

I flew away from Sounder Palace back towards the place I had gained my wings. I flew for hours and hours without stopping until I reached the palace. I knew Lord Galray was here, but I couldn't let anyone know what I was after so I completely masked my presence from anyone nearby and snuck into the palace.

Knowing I had to be quiet I carefully moved through the palace until I found the place where I had watched the queen die. Right by the centre of the room there was a small hole the exact shape and size of my locket. Using my locket as I had expected the floor opened revealing a trap door.

I knew down here was where the queen would have hid the picture with her magic the picture revealing the truth.

The stairs spiraled down right into a small room built like a nursery. There was writing on the wall. But I ignored it going instead for the picture on the table.

The picture had the queen and her husband as well as not 1, but 3 newborn babies.

The baby in the middle had the eyes of the Aurora Borealis clan. The 2 on either side of her though, although clearly the 3 were triplets, were the kings children. It wasn't unheard of for someone to conceive the children of 2 men at once.

I turned towards the writing on the wall.

"If your reading this now Faltaya has killed me and my husband. I had hidden the 3 of you separately to protect you. My 2 baby girls and my little boy. If Faltaya figures out I had triplets he wouldn't know which of to was his child. This is why I have done this.

My dear little," the name was smudged out, "you are the child of the prophecy of light and dark. Although parts of the prophecy is wrong. No matter what you will find your soul mate before your 18th birthday, but a sibling of yours from Faltaya's side may end up killing him which would lead to you turning towards the dark. With your brother and sister joining your side my little princess our world will be doomed. So find him and protect him if you do not wish to destroy the entire world." This was obviously written by the queen and I would keep this part a secret.

All I need is the picture as proof especially since each of the babies names is on the back of the photo. Once I admit to everyone that the Fae throne really has 3 heirs the Fae race will rejoice and we will be able to save the world as long as we protect him. Who he is I had no clue yet, but we will find out.

I climbed up the stairs and closed the passage. I was already halfway out of the castle when Lord Galray spotted me.

"Warrior Queen why are you here?" he asked his eyes widening in surprise.

"I was getting proof of the Fae Heirs identity," I said admiring to more then one although he wouldn't realize it.

"You've found her then!" he exclaimed.

"Yes it will all be announced at the ball held at Sounder Palace if you attend it you will be in for a shock," I said smiling.

"Thank you Warrior Queen," he cried before letting me leave.

I can't wait for the ball to shock everyone with the truth. Because no one will expect what I will tell them at the ball, but I have the proof. Plus once the seal is broken their powers will be revealed and the mark of the royal Fae will shine. Soon Faltaya shall die.
