Chapter 9: The Journey to Sounder Palace

After Azure and I flew off we found ourselves surrounded by people I knew thinking we were the enemy. So I lured them to the ground and changed back to my original appearance summoning my sword and armor as I did. No one can copy my sword or armor so as soon as I changed back we were surrounded by bowing soldiers.

"Warrior Queen we thought that you had disappeared!" Professor Dianee exclaimed.

"No, but you could had told me Ray, Faltaya's son, was on our side I was infiltrating the Faltreans as well as finding my father," I replied signaling them to rise.

"Warrior Queen who is this Faltrean you are so freely consorting with?" Dianee questioned.

"This is Azure nephew of the King of the Sprites. He's a halfling like me," I said dismissing the subject with a wave of my hand.

"Wait Warrior Queen. I thought your name was Caya!" exclaimed Azure looking very confused. He also seemed to look shocked when I said that my name was Arlia. Then I remembered something a deep feeling of hatred for the guy beside me.

"No Azure. I am Arlia Fayonette Aurora Borealis biological daughter of King Faltaya of the Faltreans although he doesn't know that. Half-sister of Ray. I'm also known as the Warrior Queen."

"But wait I heard from Ray that you denied being Faltaya's daughter."

"Of course I did. I knew I was his daughter from the start because of my last name and eye color. Ray is not to know this though because he'd assume that I'm someone else as well since there was another daughter of Faltaya born around the same time as me. I trust you with this information Dianee. You as well Azure now we must be off I've neglected my duties as Sylver's Royal Captain long enough. Come Azure we must journey to the Sounder Palace the home of the Pixie Elves royal family," I said walking away.

"Wait Arlia why are we walking when we could fly?"

"Because Azure we are halflings walking is less dangerous. Faltreans are feared and hated by everyone right now. Most Fae's are in hiding so they will automatically assume the worst. Therefore we should walk to the next town and then buy or borrow some horses," I told him. Didn't Azure know anything.

"I guess your right," said Azure landing beside me.

"Azure your wings," I sighed when he began walking with his wings still showing.

"Oops sorry Arlia," he said smiling sheepishly at me. He folded his wings in and as he did he sprouted the tail of a wolf.

I just started walking summoning a map of the area and outlining the path to the nearest town with my magic. Luckily since I had no magical aura and Azure's was more of a Sprites then Faltrean we wouldn't be harassed in the next town. Seeing that Dianee was still following us I waved her and the small group with her off. Signaling that they should go onwards to the Faltreans camp.

"Sorry about lying to you Azure, but I thought I'd be there longer. The attack came sooner then anticipated. Anyway I'd prefer if you still refered to me as Caya until we've reached Sounder palace?" I said at the same time taking the form of Caya just without my wings. To many people would recognize me as the warrior queen and right now I need to remain inconspicuous.

"Alright Caya. I guess it's safer for you traveling like this," Azure agreed.

"Yes. But we'll have to tell the people in the next town that your my bodyguard, and that we got attacked by Faltreans."

"Why?"

"Because otherwise they will wonder what a young woman is doing traveling alone with a man. Especially since we will be arriving on foot. Luckily because of such situations I am able to claim that I'm part of the Fenrir Clan," I told him. The Fenrir Clan is an ancient coven of magical beings who aren't quite witches or warlocks, but have similar powers to them. They are also known to be able to clock their aura's.
