Chapter 4: Shocking Revelations
It's been a few hours since the tournament ended and I'm finally ready for the ball after dinner. I usually didn't attend the balls even though I knew how to dance because I didn't want to encourage men to try and make me their wife or even worse their consort.
For the ball I am wearing an aqua dress that is tinged with violet matching me eyes and making them even brighter then usuall it also made my hair sparkle even more and brought out the aqua and violet streaks within it. When I walked in it the dress changed shades of the colors. It was a modest vneck dress that ended just below my knees which for me was pretty long since I was taller than most of the guys around to finish the outfit I was wearing silver heels that wrapped around my legs slightly with a jewelry set that was left to me from my real parents, the necklace was set with rainbow colored stones and a rainbow heart in the middle I also had a matching bracket and the same stone set in diamond drop earrings.
"Arlia hurry up," Sylver called to me. Even though we technically wouldn't be starting until tomorrow Sylver had asked me and Calica to join her at the ball as her friends. She said it was in order to get to know us she would have invited Jermaya as well, but because of him being a guy and not sworn to her yet it would have looked like a date even with us there which is why I had privately used my connections to get all of us sitting at the same table for supper although the deal was that I had to sit with Gian the Principals son as well.
"Alright I'm coming Sylver just wait a moment," putting the finishing touches on my sparkly silver eye shadow I carefully walked down the stairs of my house. Since it was large and had many rooms the girls had decided to get ready here after the tournament had ended. Sylver's face when she won was priceless though so was the crowds reaction. They all started calling her the Warrior Princess of the Pixie Elves.
When I walked into the room where Calica and Sylver were I heard gasps from both girls. Calica was wearing a golden dress with matching heels and wearing rhinestone jewelry and Sylver was wearing a silver dress that brought out her eyes with silver sandals and moon shaped stone jewelry most likely opal stones though.
"You look gorgeous Arlia I never knew that you even owned your own dress let alone one this breath taking," Calica said after she got over her shock.
"Well ... um ... I actually made this dress my self," I replied somewhat embarrassed.
"Woah I got a talented guardian alright I'll have to let you make me a dress as beautiful as that when you have time," Sylver smiled up at me.
"Well then let's go girls. Today is the last day we can just let lose and have fun Calica the rest of the time we will be spending guarding and protecting Sylver," I said taking both of them by the arm and leading them outside to the waiting limo in front of my house.

When we arrived dinner was just about to start and everyone else was already seated. So when the 3 of us walked in everyone turned around to look and gasped in surprise. It was well known that I hated wearing dresses and everyone knew that I had been tricked into wearing one on the first day of the tournament. But this was the second time in 3 days that they saw me in a dress and I actually looked happy this time.
The 3 of us waited for the servant to show us the way to our table which of course was in front of the portrait of the Queen and King of the Fae shortly before they were attacked. Many castles had this very same portrait in them to remember the poor souls who had died without hearing the laughter of their first child. As soon as we were seated Queen Arlissa rose and began to speak.
