We scan the room and no one is here. Where could they have all gone in the five minutes we weren't in the room. Jared holds onto my hand, "Just in case, stay close to me," he says. I just nod, too scared to say anything. The mansion is dead silent. Jared and I slowly walk around the mansion in search of someone but it's almost as if everyone just disappeared into thin air.

"I think we should get out of here," I say and Jared and I run outside. There are a few cars out here so we go into one, "I can drive," I offer. Jared laughs, "Raven I love you but, let me do the driving." I don't argue and just quickly go into the passenger seat. Jared finds the key conveniently already in place and just starts the car and begins driving.

He goes into an area filled with people. He takes out a pair of sunglasses and hands them to me, "Just in case, I don't want anyone to recognize you," he says. I slide them on and we get out of the car. We have brought ourselves to a shopping center, so whoever is looking for us will have a hard time spotting us.

We walk around, trying not to look anyone in the eyes or bring attention to ourselves. Jared hasn't let go of my hand and I don't mind it. I feel something press against my head, "Raven Eaton, it's been a while," a voice says. I turn around, shocked to see Christina behind me with a gun pointed right at my forehead. "Christina?" I ask, "what are you doing?"

"Saving what's left of this world from you," she answers. Jared stands in front of me, "Touch her and you're dead," he says. Christina grabs him by his shirt, "Little Jared Kang," she says, "you've died twice. Third times a charm right?" I push him out of her grip, the people around us go into hiding.

"You can take me wherever you have to, but leave Jared alone," I say, "If you insist," she says. She grabs my arm and Jared tries to interfere but I punch him, causing him to fall back. The last thing that goes through my head is the feeling of a needle piercing through my neck.
