I wake up. It's been two weeks since I spoke to Molly. I've been trying to forget about her, but I can't. I know I will have to find some way to block her out though, considering I'm getting married tomorrow, and I don't want the thought of her to ruin my being happy. I get out of my bed and like I do every morning, I go to the makeup room.
Keith does his usual simple face look. For my eyeliner he does black and dark blue. He straightens my hair and sends me to Petra. She dresses me in dark blue off the shoulder top and white jeans. I thank them and leave.
My mom, Jared and I go outside to the white rose garden to help set up for the wedding. A crew is there with us setting up major equipment and it takes a few hours before everything is put together. Over the past few weeks Jared and I have been deciding on little details so it's nice to see everything put together.
I see Johanna walk past. I've been avoiding her after hearing that she isn't attending the wedding. She doesn't come up to us, she just walks past. I look at Jared and he looks hurt. I wrap an arm around him. We go inside and attend a few presidential meetings. I go to my room alone. Jared decides to do something with Weston and Peter.
I pick up the phone in the corner of my room and call Kendall. I've seen her a few times since I woke up from my coma. "Hello?" She answers, "Hey Kendall, it's Raven," I say. "Oh hey, what's up?" She asks, "Nothing," I answer, "how about you?" "I'm just mentally preparing myself for your wedding tomorrow," she says.
"Do you you wanna come by the presidential palace?" I ask, "Sure," she says. "Great, I'll tell Weston to send a car to get you," I tell her. "Cool, thanks, see you in a bit, bye," she says and hangs up. Jared, Weston and Peter are still here so I find Weston and ask him to arrange a car to bring Kendall from her house.
Within thirty minutes Kendall arrives. We go up to my room to just talk, almost like we're normal teenagers. Except with our crazy lives you can't necessarily consider us your average teenagers. "So are you nervous?" She asks. "No, not really," I answer. "You never told me how it went with Molly," she says. I freeze up.
"I haven't?" I ask, and she shakes her head. I sigh, "It didn't go well at all actually," I tell her, "let's just say she wants nothing to do with me." "So are you having a maid of honor?" Kendall asks. "No, I've decided not to since Molly is the only person I'd want for that role," I answer. "Well I'm sorry that it didn't work out," she says.
"So how's Liam?" I ask, even though him and I were never really friends. "He's fine, he's living in district twelve," she says, "he even has a girlfriend, her name's Delilah Everdeen." I laugh, "Wow, I never thought there'd be a girl crazy enough to fall in love with him." Kendall laughs too. "Yeah, she seems pretty decent, surprisingly," she says.
"How's your love life?" I ask, "The same as it's always been," she answers, "but I heard Molly's found someone. Something Odair. Don't know much about him." I raise an eyebrow, "Huh," I say. We keep talking for a while, and then she leaves.
After a while Weston, Jared and Peter come back from whatever they were doing. They come by my room to say hi and leave. When they leave my dad comes. "I never thought I'd be a dad, let alone walk my daughter down the aisle," he says. I smile at him. "Well I never thought I'd get out of jail, let alone get to meet you and have you walk me down the aisle," I say.
He sits next to me on my window seat. From my bedroom the white rose garden is visible. I stare down at it and watch the sun set. I hear Jared walk inside the room, my dad and I both turn to him. "Sir, thank you again for letting me marry your daughter," Jared says to my dad. My dad shrugs, "I've been feeling generous," he says.
I laugh, "Aw, Jared's trying to impress you," I say to my dad. "Well I'm not impressed," he says. Jared's face turns a little bit red with embarrassment. "I have to admit, though, I'm impressed that you've died a few times and still manage to be somewhat normal," my dad says. Jared and him shake hands and Jared kisses me before he leaves.
"Not in front of me," my dad says, and I sarcastically roll my eyes. He smiles, "Goodnight," he says before leaving. I change into sleeping clothes and remove my makeup. I stay awake in my bed and think about tomorrow. With time I fall asleep.
