She sat on the window sill, staring at the raindrops, full of grief. He hadn't called, nor messaged. She always believed marriage would be full of love, but no one warned her, the curse of love; anxiety, due to a deep rooted concern which surpassed all her emotions. She wondered, did she lack eman, or was this true love? He had left home for work, and was several hours late. It was unlike him to not call.
As she pushed away the tears, she prayed, for them.
Hours later, she heard him run up the stairs, soaked, apologising. She sighed, as the heaviness in her heart lightened it's burden.
His battery had died.
She ran to him, thumped him, and embraced him. Surprised, he held on to her, touched by her care.
As she held on to him, she thanked Allah, and reflected over love; how amazing is this emotion, a gift from God, but laden with grief. Then she thought of the Hereafter; eternal in nature, and it motivates her. She may lose, but has she really lost? She made an intention, to give, to love, to make an effort to make her love eternal, as it was the only way out from the damning of love.
