Chapter 4: Redemption

"Someone is going to die tonight, it's going to be the Daretly's, they took our Alpha, our hope, our justice. We will take back what is ours."

The crowd was rowdy and excited.

The wolves back began barking and howling in agreement, the bitter sting of their barks was always and unpleasant sound. I sat proudly on a rock next to my mother, brother's and sister's. 

My uncle made another announcement "Our faithful scouts have discovered their hideout not far from the falls, it will take a two day hike but-"

My mother turned to my uncle "Two days, it's too long, we will be too late, we need to leave now!"

Uncle took a quick glance at my mother, not even acknowledging her, "The Daretly's aren't planning to kill him, they had their chance before, they wan't him for something. We will leave in one hour." His voice was always to loud and demanding. 

One by one the pack slowly left the forest towards their dens. I looked up to my mother, I felt so scared, what if she was right what if we will be too late. I followed the pack and headed to my den, I began preparing myself, since I was a pup the only thing I can do is watch but I can always rest myself, I will need the energy to walk.

The adventure would be great to go on, god knows what i'll encounter. But, i will be the Alpha on this journey, i will have to make decisions with my mother, do i have what it takes. One slip up and the entire pack could die and it will be because of me... I closed my eyes and slowly drifted of, dreading the next few day ahead of me...

Red, and purple lined the skies, it was evening and the trek and begun, the pack disappeared into the trees; me, my mother and my uncle led the pack into the forest, the trees stood tall, claiming the earth around them, the owls hooting made everything more unnerving. The further be traveled the dark it got, within an hour the sky has a navy blue with small silver stars lining the large pale moon in the center of everything Every time i heard a stick snap and some bark, i would jump out of my fur. He came to a small clearing, we had been walking for two hours, we needed to rest.

My mother stopped, and turned the the crowd of wolves behind her "We shall sleep here tonight, stay close, and keep safe!" She always had a serious side to her when things like this were going on. She looked down at me and tilted her head to the side, signaling me to say my half.

"Yes... Erm go to sleep... And don't wander... Off. Yeah, go to sleep and don't wander off" I timidly stepped back from the crowd and rested on a small pile of pebbles. Their smooth exterior was a great place to rest by tired body.

I was woken up in my peace full sleep by the sound of barking, as i turned my head one of my older brother shot past me. It was morning, but for them play time. I knew my role wasn't to play around, but i was so egar to play with them, all the young packs members were playing and having fun. Being an Alpha is hard work, even for a pup.
