Sapphire's POVI walked down the hall after I heard what sounded like screaming, but realized it was only the lunch bell. I walked down to the cafeteria and waited in the dreadfully long lunch line. It doesn't matter to me, though. Time is irrelevant.
I was in the front of the line in no time without having to freeze anybody for once. The grumpy lunch lady groaned to me and said, "Whaddya want?"
"Chili, spicy, chili please ma'am," I said in a monotone voice.
"Fine," she groaned again as she grabbed a ladle and dunked it into the pot next to her, that was sitting on the cold silver counter. I held up the green tray that had a metal bowl on it so she could pour my meal onto it. She snatched my tray, and barley got the chili into my bowl.
"NEXT," she yelled to the person behind me. I walked out of the small kitchen area to where I would eat my meal, but nobody wanted me to sit by them, so as I walked by, they would kick their feet up where there were any open spots, or put their lunch boxes on the empty seats. I just kept looking forward to find a spot to enjoy my meal, which was now getting cold. Probably from my hands, I could see frost grow onto the tray as I walked forward. I felt something stop me from walking and hit my toe, making me to fall over and spill my food all over my gray shirt that said, "Jeep calm and sing." I looked up, only to see Morganite and her long flowing pink hair being the cause of my fall. I looked down at my shirt to see spilled chili all over it, not to mention the bowl was stuck to my shoulder, as a reminder. I looked around the room to see people laughing, smiling, giggling, but then I saw Ruby sitting next to a cackling Morganite. She didn't move, laugh, or smile, she looked like she wanted to help, but when she saw me looking at her, she started to fake a laugh. I could feel the cold tears start to form, I closed my eye, and heard a voice yelling, "Aaaah!" I opened my eye and a tear ran down my face. I looked around and saw Ruby holding Morganite on her lap and she was stroking her face, but Morganite had a... a lasagna in her hair?! There was a whole lasagna sitting on her once pink hair, with tomato sauce rubbed all over her face. She was crying, and I saw lots of mascara falling down her face. I couldn't help but smirk, but who did that to her? Suddenly I heard another voice and someone poking me in the arm.
"Hey! Are you dead?" I looked to the source of the voice and saw a girl my age with long dark hair with purple streaks, a black shirt, and green striped shorts. "No, not dead yet," I replied.
"Well, that's good," she said as she bent down on one knee and held out her purple hand. I grabbed it with my hand dripping of red beans and peppers, and realized she doesn't care if she gets chili all over herself, seeing as she took my hand anyway. Taking a second glance, I realize she didn't bother to brush her hair, either.
"C'mon, let's go get you cleaned up." She said pulling herself and I up.
