The Crush

We walked down the long halls, ignoring the fact that my skin was stained red from the chili and that I was leaving behind footprints of squished beans. It was like the purple girl hadn't even noticed I was covered in my meal.

"So, yeah, I live here now." She said waving her arms about, talking way too loudly. Remind me not to tell her anything secretly.

"So where do you live?" I looked at her as she realized how that sounded. "Sorry, I didn't mean that in a creepy way. I'm not a stalker."

"It's fine. I live over by Lemon Grove," I replied looking forward, seeing the girls bathroom.

"AWESOME! THAT'S WHERE I LIVE TOO DUDE! Even though I already said that," She said way too loudly and smiled big. I smirked at her dorky attitude. We both walked into the bathroom, and thankfully, no one was in there. She walked over to the sink and grabbed a handful of paper towels and got them wet with the water from the sink. As she walked to me, she threw one too the ceiling, causing it to stick.

"Here ya go," She set the paper towels in my hands and I walked over to the mirror and started to wipe off the chili from my face and blonde hair with blue ombre.

"By the way, the name's amethyst. You can call me Ames, since we're gonna be best friends and everything," She said, sitting on the rim of the sink while I cleaned myself. I smiled. I finally have a friend. I thought to myself.

"My name is Sapphire," I said to Ames. "I don't quite have a nickname. I've never really had a friend before..."

"That's okay. We'll think of one later," She said hopping off the counter to look at herself in the mirror. "Daammmn Daniel! We look Goo-ood!"

I laughed. "Except for the fact that I'm covered in chili!"

"Exactly!"

I was cracking up while Ames started posing in front of the mirror. Then we heard footsteps, and small sniffles. I looked to the front of the bathroom, and saw a tall girl with short strawberry blonde hair.

"O-oh, sorry, I d-din't think anyone w-was in here." The tall girl said weakly trough tears.

"Oh hey pearl," Amethyst said blushing but trying to act cool. "What's wrong?"

"N-nothing, just, E-emerald bro-oke up with me...!" Those few words seemed to start a flow of tears to come down her oval face as Ames ran over to try and comfort her.

"Shh, Pearl it'll be okay..." Amethyst sang as Pearl wept into her shoulder.

I walked over and put my left hand on her other shoulder and tried to calm her.

"If it makes you feel any better pearl, I can go freeze her," I said holding up my right hand with small snowflakes flowing out. Pearl looked at my hand, and realized that my gem was located there.

"I-i'm sorry I had to bump into you like this. But, I'll be going now. And thanks, but you really shouldn't freeze her. I'll be going now...!" And with that, she half walked half ran out of the bathroom. Amethyst just stood where she was, Pearls tears still on her shirt, and stared out the door with a goofy grin plastered onto her face.

"Hey, hey Ames, Ames gotta cru-ush!" I teased.

"Oh shut up!" She retorted, but she still blushed.
