(Luke's POV)I picked Arzaylea up from school so we could hang out at my house a little before my mom and dad got home from work. They work late on Wednesdays.
I led her into the house, her lips on my neck. I closed the door and pushed her against it, connecting our lips.
"Let's go upstairs." I mumbled against her lips and she nodded.
--After Larzaylea's alone time--
"You're just getting better at this Luke, I thought you well." I was laying there, trying to catch my breath, just nodding when she spoke. I pulled her close, kissing her slightly sweaty forehead.
"Let's go get hot dogs." I said but made no effort to move. But Arzaylea was quick to get out of bed, while I was left laying there while she put her clothes back on.
"Cuddle?" I pouted but she shook her head and said, "I'm hungry."
I nodded and got out of bed, pulling her into a hug.
"Luke, knock it off." I let go and looked at the floor and began pulling my boxers on.
--Hot Dogs--
"Luke, what the fuck is this shit? It tastes like dog food." I watched as she set the hot dog back down on the greasy paper plate.
"I love these hot dogs. Me and my brother come here. They have the best food. It's so bad for you." I said, stuffing the dog in my mouth.
"You're gonna get fat." She said and got up to throw her hot dog away. I felt kinda sad because I just paid $3.40 for that hot dog. But oh well. "Are you almost done?" She questioned, rubbing my shoulder. I nodded, cheeks full of greasy hot dog and stood up, grabbing her hand, and swallowing the heaven in a bun.
"Are you going to walk me home?" Arzaylea looked up at me, trying to be cute with her puppy dog eyes and pouty lip. It annoys me when she does this, but I nod anyway and started walking her home.
Something caught my eye as we walked along the main road, I saw someone crossing it and instantly got a bad feeling in my gut.
"Hey look. It's Ashton." Arzaylea poked my side and I immediately identified him.
"He needs to get out of the road before something happens. He's walking way to slow."
"Oh well. Whatever happens, happens." And she grabbed my hand, pulling me along. I looked away from the boy and to the ground, until I heard a car in the distance. I froze and looked up, seeing Ashton standing in the road, a car speeding down the road, I tried calling his name, but when I opened my mouth, only silence came out.
I pushed Arzaylea off of me and ran into the road. Headlights shining on Ashton, a look of fear on his face. I couldn't just let him get hit. The head lights got closer and I still stood there, in the road, looking at Ashton while he looked at the bright lights nearing his small body. "What if I get hit trying to save him? I can't just watch this happen." I thought to myself. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, opening them. Everything seemed to be in slow motion, but began to speed up again. So I ran. I ran to Ashton. My body crashed into his and I threw the both of us away from the car. I pulled him close and put my hand on the back of his head, not wanting him to hit it on the side walk. As soon as I felt my hand come in contact with the pavement, the car went speeding past us. I felt Ashton's body hit the ground and mine fell onto his. We both lay there, to scared to look up. My hand was burning like hell, knowing I had cut it on the rough pavement. Ashton's was breathing hard and unsteady, as was I. I lifted my head from his chest and looked at him. If it wasn't for his breathing or the loud thumps from his heart beat, he might as well be a statue. He was laying there, looking up, probably trying to prosess what happened because that's what I was doing, except I was looking at him.
