(Ashton's POV)

The second day was no better. I woke up late because I forgot to turn my iPod's volume up. I quickly jumped out of bed when noticing my room was lighter than it should be at the time I would wake for school. I grabbed my iPod to see that the timer had gone off for when I set it, and that was roughly 40 minutes ago.

I jumped out of my bed, running over to my dresser and pulled out a black Green Day shirt and jeans. I then quickly made my way over to my "closet" (aka a horizontal pull that I put up in the corner of my room) and pulled on a black jean jacket. I ran down the stairs, my socks covered feet slipping, resulting in me falling the rest of the way down the stairs. When I reached the bottom, I groaned out in pain and looked around to see my father wasn't awake yet. No surprise. I looked out the small kitchen window to see his car wasn't here either. This isn't the first time he fell asleep at the bar and on his way him, fell asleep in his car also.

I looked around the kitchen, taking in how lonely it really is. One small table by the small window, two dusty chairs, an empty fridge, empty cupboards. In some cupboards, you might find some dusty cups and plates, dusty due to the lack of use. The blue grey walls feel like they're closing in on me so I start running for the hall, grabbing my shoes and back pack and closing the door behind me, probably harder than necessary. I slipped my shoes on and swung my bag over my shoulders. I walked down the stone path to the drive way and speed walked to school.

I rang the buzzer and patiently waited until I heard a beep, signalling the door was unlocked. I pulled it open and made my way to the office.

I walked down the empty hall with my pass in my hand. I stood outside one of the math rooms, reading the number of my schedule again to make sure I was walking into the right class. I knocked before slowly opening the door with everyone's attention on me. I walked in and saw an empty seat at the end of one of the tables. The girl didn't look up at me so I poked her shoulder and she looked up with an annoyed expression. "May I sit here?" I said pointing to the seat. She nodded and put her bag on the floor before continuing her work. I moving my hands inside the sleeves of my jacked and slid my black and blue book bag off my shoulders and taking a seat in the plastic chair. I looked around the class, seeing who was in it. I smiled when seeing Alex and sent her a small wave. She looked at me and smiled and looked back down at her work, I continued looking around and I froze when seeing Luke Hemmings, ignoring whatever lame thing Michael was talking about and was looking right at me, our eyes locked and he looked away, but I continued taking in, what I could see, what he was wearing. He was wearing a black button up t-shirt, buttoned up to his neck, skin tight skinny jeans, making his calves look nice. I followed his long legs to the floor and took in his shiny, black ankle high boots. I looked back up to see his hair down today and not in a quiff like yesterday. He was chewing his black lip ring, trying to pay attention to his green haired friend. I turned slightly, locking eyes with me again and this time it was my turn to look away.

The teacher came over to me, explaining class rules and giving me the work sheet. I tried to focus but I couldn't with Luke staring at me like this. It's like he's going to pounce any second. I was relieved when the bell rang. I quickly threw my new papers into my dinosaur aged bag. Luke stood by the white board and I slowly began to walk in the direction of the door, and sadly, him. I looked down to the ground when I got closer to him. He stood up straighter and walked next to me. Neither of us saying a work and to say it was awkward, would be an understatement.

"You look nice today, Irwin." Do my ears device me? They must have or Luke's just messing with me and trying to get me to do his homework.

"Th-thanks." I looked down at my combat boots, taking in the hole on the side of them.
