It was through the clearing of the Buzzing He could hear Sanyukta's voice. She told him that that his brain areas were still functioning. That pupils responded to light. That his eyes blinked when his eyelashes were touched. That he was initiating breaths on his own. Sanyukta's voice shook when she said that the presence of these brain stem functions was favorable. There was a sigh as she lamented that it did not indicate whether he would eventually recover consciousness.
That's what he was. Unconscious.
He did not know how long it has been. There were strange beeps and sharp pains. And after endless intervals more of Sanyukta pleading him to wake up. Followed by longer silences.
"But I can know you are listening to me Parth. I know it. You always listen to me. You need to listen to me this time too Parth. You need to wake up "
Her voice sounded sharper. Clearer.
Wake up Parth.
