"What are you doing here?" Luke asked with a hint of disgust.
"I thought you'd be happy to see me," Lexi smirked. "You told me you'd try to be back within the few months that you left and then you stopped texting me so I decided to visit."
"I stopped texting you for a reason," Luke rolled his eyes and moved to the fridge. He pulled out a water bottle to cool himself down. His face started to feel way too hot.
"Lexi told me she was your girlfriend," Ashton raised an eyebrow at Luke.
"She's not," Luke said through his teeth.
When Luke started binge partying, he met Lexi at a party. They were both completely shit faced and she was hot so they hooked up and didn't stop for a long time. They never really had a "relationship," as some would say, it was more of a friends with benefits kind of thing. Except they weren't friends either. Luke already didn't do well in school and once this happened, his mom got worried. She didn't know about Lexi but she knew about the parties and the late night arrivals home. That's why he ended up in this town in the first place. Once he met Jude, he didn't want to go back.
He stopped texting Lexi because he didn't want to have anything to do with her, or that life, anymore.
"Ouch," Lexi scoffed.
"Seriously, I don't want you here," Luke told her.
"Luke, can we just talk about this?" Lexi asked.
"No, you were never anything other than a fuck buddy. I've changed." Luke wanted her to leave before she caused more problems. "We were never friends, we were never anything other than two people who liked to get drunk together because we didn't have anything good in our life. I've found something now and you need to find something on your own because i'm not what you need."
Ashton walked over to the small kitchen table and sat down.
"So there's another girl?" Lexi asked.
"Yes," Luke answered firmly.
"I thought you weren't the girlfriend type?" She asked him.
"I wasn't, especially not to you." Luke almost felt bad being so harsh, but Lexi got around to too many guys, no matter if she was in a relationship or not. Luke didn't want to be in a relationship at the time, let alone with someone who wouldn't be faithful to him. He was too much of the jealous type to not care.
"What's her name?"
"Jude. She's on my hockey team."
"Oh you're on another team, huh? Can I come to one of your games?" She smirked.
"No. I don't want you around me," Luke said. "Please leave."
Luke was so surprised how calm he was being. It was partly because it was very late at night and he couldn't yell. But Lexi had tried to be clingy before and he backed away before things became too serious. It was so random that she was here now because in all honesty, he forgot about her. He didn't want to remember the old him.
"Fine, but i'll be ready for you once you come crawling back," Lexi said in her bitchiest tone. Luke ignored her remark.
"Where are you staying?" he asked her, making sure she would be in a safe place.
"A motel," she got up off the stool she sat at and walked towards the front of the house. "Goodbye, Luke."
When she walked out the door, he felt the small gust of cold air come in for a second. He sat on the stool and took a deep breath.
"How was the date?" Ashton chuckled.
"Great, actually," Luke almost smiled.
"Do you want to explain her?" Ashton pointed towards the door, implying Lexi.
