Chapter 3 – Continued Terror {Angie POV}
I awoke to a gentle hand on my shoulder. I shot up, not thinking, and smacked my head on the bunk above me.
I sucked in air slowly through my teeth, stopping myself from cursing. “Ow…”
“You okay?” my eyes snapped towards the new male voice. ’ I opened my mouth to scream, but he silenced me with a hand over my mouth. I recognised him immediately…it was Ryan Sitkowski. Then it hit me. ‘I’m on the tour bus for Motionless in White…I’m mated to…Chris Motionless! Oh God! Oh God! Oh God!’ “Steady there young’un…” he looked behind him nervously.
“Damnit Ryan!” I pulled away from Ryan as Cassie chastised him. “Leave her alone! You’ll scare her half to death…if you haven’t already that is!” she slapped his arm. “Besides, it’s girl time. The other girls want to meet her. Out!”
Ryan huffed, but obeyed.
“Other girls?” I asked hesitantly.
“Yeah, Balz and Ricky’s mates…they’ve been hanging in a hotel…they don’t like the close confines of the tour bus like I do.” Cassie rolled her eyes. “But, yeah…we thought we could take you out and maybe get you some new clothes or shoes or lingerie or something…just hang out and answer the million questions swimming about in your head.”
I thought about her offer. I was allowed out of the bus…perhaps I could get away. “Um…sure…do something normal…” I rubbed my eyes. “What time is it?”
“It’s three…” Cassie smirked when my eyes widened. I never slept this late! “It’s okay, it happens to all of us. Sleeping habits in the first few months are a bit erratic, but it normalises like everything else.” She looked me up and down. “C’mon. we’ll get you dressed and wait for the boys to leave, then we’ll go out…” she hesitated. “Are you hungry at all?”
I swallowed thickly. “I would say more thirsty…”
“Oh, okay.” She grabbed a bottle from the small bar fridge across from us. “Here, drink this…it’s okay, it’s just water.”
“I thought we couldn’t ingest things humans do…” I frowned.
“Water isn’t food. It can work as medicine if you feel unwell, but mainly we use it for what everyone does…showers and drinking.” Cassie smiled at me as a gulped down the cool liquid…it was sweet…rainwater. I smiled. “There, better?” I nodded. “Good, okay, let’s make you look stunning!”
I didn’t think she’d be able to…but, I did look nice by the time she was done with me. I shrank back as Ryan stuck his head through the curtain separating us from the guys and grinned at me. “Wow… you’re an artist, babe…” he winked at me and I blushed. “Sorry for scaring you earlier. We’re off now, Cass. Wish us luck! I’ll see you later!” he called as he disappeared and I heard the boys leave the bus.
“Stupid arse.” Cassie shook her head. “He does care…he’s just a little…”
“Forward?” I suggested absentmindedly, thinking about my escape plan.
“Yeah…that’s one way of putting it.” Cassie nodded as she added her finishing touches to my make-up. I’d pleaded with her not to do it, but she’d insisted. “Okay, let’s go.” She smiled and began pulling me towards the front of the bus.
The curtain was pulled back and I looked around curiously. The mysterious front of the bus looked rather…comfy. Couches against the walls and cushions and beanbags everywhere…I smirked. I thought Motionless in White would be…different. Cassie let me look about for a minute or two, and then she pulled me out the bus door. Fresh air filled my lungs and I gave a sigh of relief. It had been rather stuff in the bus, but it was nice out here.
