Chapter 8 – One More Night {Angie POV}
(One month later…)
I paced nervously, watched by Cassie. It was the night before the wedding…the night before I would actually belong to someone. I stopped dead in my tracks. “I have a family again…how the heck did that happen?”
Cassie laughed at me. “It always happens when you’re not looking. I had a similar epiphany the night before I married Ryan. Our wedding night was…” she smiled and her eyes closed briefly as a delicate shudder rippled through her. “Magical…”
I smirked back at her, but my face became grim again. “But…”
“No buts,” she smirked and came over to hug me.
I heard her thoughts and immediately explained. “No, I’m not having second thoughts or anything, it’s just…how the bloody hell am I supposed to walk in those, “ I pointed to the heels Cassie had bought me. “Whilst wearing that?!” I gestured to my wedding dress. “I mean, it’s beautiful…but seriously?!”
“We’ll practice!” Cassie smiled and retrieved the heels. “C’mon, we’ll do this till you don’t even wobble.”
I groaned but complied. “Okay, but if I sustain any injuries, you’re the one explaining it to Chris!”

“We’ve been doing this for hours, Cass!” I whined. “I’m never going to be able to walk in these.”
“Yes you will, now shhh!” she warned. “The boys will hear you if you’re not careful.” She smirked. “And the happy couple aren’t allowed to see each other until those doors open and you walk down the aisle to say your ‘I do’s’.”
I grumbled. “I don’t know if I care any longer…” I cocked an eyebrow at my friend. “I didn’t know vampires held to that tradition…”
“We started it!” Cassie feigned horror at my not knowing this.
I huffed, frustrated. “Do I have to wear the hoop skirt?”
“Not tomorrow, I just wanted you to practice walking whilst wearing something that made it impossible to see your feet.” Cassie shrugged.
“So you are trying to kill me!” I laughed with her and sat on the edge of her bed. “I’ll just have to pray all goes well tomorrow…”
“You’ll be fine…you just need to sleep for now.” She grinned evilly at me. “God knows you won’t be getting much sleep tomorrow night!”
I heard the boys laugh…right outside the door! I groaned in embarrassment, blushing what I’m sure was a lovely shade of scarlet. “Oh, God…”
“Ignore them.” Cassie smirked. “I do.”
“It’s not fair everyone knowing what’s going to happen except me! Not even you’ll give me a straight answer, Cass!” I sighed, my face falling into my hands.
“I have to be cryptic…otherwise it’ll spoil the magic!” Cassie sat beside me and wrapped an arm around my shoulders; I looked up at her curiously. “All you really need to know is-”
“You going to want to do things you never dreamed you would!” Ricky shouted through the door, and the boys all laughed.
I hid my blushing face in my hands again. ‘Looks like I’m in for one hell of a night!’
