Chapter 5 – Aaron’s best friend is who? And he’s a what?! {Angie POV}
I’d barely slept, and barely eaten anything at all, by the time I got to Aaron’s place in LA. I’d driven as far as I could and then found an airport. I organised a short-term passport for interstate travel and hopped on a place to LA. I’d left the phone that could be tracked in the tour bus thank God.
I hadn’t seen Aaron since the trial which effectively put my rapist behind bars for life. It would be nice to see him again under nicer circumstances. I had very little with me when he opened the door and his eyes nearly popped out of his head when he saw me.
“Ange?” he half laughed. “What are you doing here? How are you here?” he pick me up in one of his legendary hugs and spun me round as he stepped back into his apartment. He set me down and regarded me curiously. “So, how’s my baby cousin?” he smiled.
“I’m…I’m…” I couldn’t find words. I gave him a rather convincing fake smile and shrugged. “I’ll be fine now I’m here with you!”
“Well, when did you get here?!” he asked showing me into his living room and sat down with me.
“Ah… a week and I half ago…I think…” I frowned. I hadn’t really had much concept of time lately. That was weird. “And I thought I’d just-”
“Come and visit?” Aaron smirked at me and pulled me in for another hug. A small cough to our right brought us out of our own little world. I looked up cautiously, feeling my fangs elongate slightly. Cassie said they did that only when I’d feed, and when another vampire that might be a threat was nearby. Great, so there’s a vampire in my cousin’s house. Perfect! “Ah, Angie, meet my very best friend in the whole world… Marilyn.”
The man smirked at me as he leant against the doorframe. Clad in black leather from head to toe, and looking damn fine in it too…was Marilyn Manson! “Wow…”
“Marilyn, meet my baby cousin, Angie.” Aaron seemed completely oblivious to our elongated canines and our pale complexions.
Marilyn walked over to me, took me hand, and kissed it. “Charmed.” He winked at me and I blushed like crazy.
As he walked towards the far bookshelf I grimaced. Motionless in White knew him. If they rang him, gave him my description and asked if I was there…
Marilyn turned and looked at me curiously. I looked back, listening to his thoughts and he smiled. ‘It’s nice to know there’s another vamp telepath in the world…we’re quite rare.’ I gasped and he winked at me.
I was so fucked…

{Chris POV}
“She knew to leave the phone here. She knew to cover her escape route…but where the heck did she go?!” I fumed, pacing back and forth in the bus as we made our way to the final show destination of the tour…Los Angeles. “She’s got nothing to go back to…all her things were shipped to my house…”
“Does she have any family over here?” Ryan asked Cassie.
“Every time I tried to find her she was always murmuring something about finding Aaron…a relative maybe? I got the feeling they’d been close once.” Cassie sighed and started murmuring that it was all her fault.
She’d been beating herself up about this for weeks…but then, we all had. We’d chased her, gained a little of her trust and then terrified her half to death again. I could feel her getting weaker without me. She wasn’t feeding. We weren’t together… she could die if she kept this up!
“Any idea as to where she is? Can you see who she’s with?” Angelo rubbed his eyes as he sat in front of his laptop. “She’s damn good at covering her tracks…if she joined us we could learn a thing or two from her!”
I watched Cassie close her eyes, frowning. “She’s just looking out a window.” Cassie sighed then froze. “Wait… I think that’s…” she frowned again. “Yes, that’s Capitol Records Tower! So she must be close to Vine Street in Hollywood Heights! Oh!” she let her head fall back against Ryan’s shoulder. “Thankyou Angie for looking out a window at a famous building!”
“Hollywood, huh?” Angelo raised an eyebrow at me. “Perhaps you should give Manson a call. Ask him if he’s seen any newborn, female vamps fitting Angie’s description recently…or maybe he knows an Aaron who lives near Vine Street.”
I shrugged and pulled out my phone. “Worth a shot.” I dialled and waited. It rang twice before he picked up.
“Hey, Motionless. Long-time no see.” Manson answered quietly. “This wouldn’t be a ‘have you seen someone’ call, would it?”
“You friggin’ telepaths!” I huffed.
“No, hear me out. I only asked coz there’s a young girl here who looks rather new to me and has a great deal many thoughts about you in her head…some of them rather…interesting.” Manson replied.
I gaped at Angelo. He usually had pretty good instincts…but this was insane. “She doesn’t happen to have dark red hair, be about five foot two, and look-”
“Totally fuckable!” Balz yelled out to Manson on the phone. I glared at him.
“I see Balz hasn’t changed even though he’s mated.” Manson chuckled. “Yes, she fits that description…perfectly.” I didn’t like the purr he had in his voice, but I let it slide. “Goes by the name Angie, or Ange to her cousin Aaron here…have I got the right girl?”
“Yep, that’s her.” I breathed a sigh of relief. “Listen, we’re doing our final gig tonight not far from your place…any chance you could get her to go there with you?”
“Not without some degree of persuasion…she’s a sufferer of post-traumatic stress disorder, poor thing. But yeah, I’ll see what I can do…” he paused. How long have you two been apart, Chris? She’s looking a little worse for wear. She doesn’t feed…she doesn’t have you…had you two consummated-”
“No, we hadn’t.” I growled. “We’ve been apart nearly five months. And before you say anything, I know how bad that is for her! Its fucking with my system too! It’s-”
“Killing you?” Manson asked but I knew he needed no reply. “Well, at least she’s realising she needs you…even if you did scare her half to death.” Manson replied casually. “She’s getting weaker…” His tone became teasing. “She’ll need more than just your blood when you get to her too.” He paused. “In all seriousness though, if you don’t come for her soon and make her taste of your blood…she will die…”
“I know, Manson…”I looked at the wall ahead of me. “I know.”
