Okay, so here's the weird part. As we're getting our food and sitting down at the camp fire, some kids are burning their food. I'm thinking, what? I ask Percy what they are doing.

"Every night, we burn some of our food as sacrifices to the gods. We say their name, and then burn the food." Percy explained. "Since you don't know who your father is, you can sacrifice food to my dad." He looks at me with the silliest face.

"Fine." I giggle. I take some of my food and thank Poseidon for horses. Then I burn the food.

A few more people make sacrifices. The fire was unlike any other fire that I have seen. The flames were over 20 feet high and the color was golden. This confused me.

As I'm walking over to the bathroom when a girl with brown hair comes up to me, looking a little ticked off.

"So, you're the new girl, hmm? Come with me." the girl grabs my shoulder and drags me to the bathroom. I look behind me and see Percy and Annabeth looking my way. I mouth the word "Help." They get up as soon as we reach the bathroom.

"There's this camp initiation that I do. So you'd better hold your breath!" the girl grabs my head and tries to dunk it into the toilet. I was about a few inches away from the water when I hear footsteps.

I'm struggling to keep my head out of the water when all of a sudden, a big stream of water pulls out of the toilet and hits the girl. I know that's not me. If it was, I'd know.

The girl got knocked backwards, toilet water still flowing onto her face. I look towards the doorway and see Percy, a look of pain on his face. The water stops and Percy's face goes back to normal.

"What the heck was that?" I ask him.

"That was me saving you from a swirly."

"Who is she?" I point to the girl covered in toilet water.

"Clarisse La Rue, daughter of Ares. Don't worry, she does this to every new camper." Percy explains.

I thank Percy, cuss at Clarisse, and leave the bathroom. We head back to the camp fire.
