June 7, 9 pm

Campfire time again. This time, I sacrificed to Athena for the olives. I actually like them. I joined in with the Apollo cabin singing the songs. The flames were about 20 feet high and the color of gold. The campers must have been happy. I looked around for Percy and Annabeth. Annabeth was over by the Athena campers. Percy was nowhere to be seen.

I look in the Poseidon cabin and see him laying in his bed. He was writing in a notebook.

"Percy, are you ok?" I ask. He whips around and shoves the notebook underneath his pillow.

"Ariel, why aren't you at the campfire?"

"I was about to ask you the same thing." I sigh. "It just didn't feel the same without you. What were you writing in that notebook?"

He looks back at his pillow. "A letter."

"To whom?"

"You'll find out."

I head back to the campfire with Percy trailing a few feet behind. I look back and see that he is not there. I stand there for a while and see him come out of the Athena cabin with a sad look on his face.

We get to the fire and it lowers a little. The gold color turns to a bronze. Percy's sour mood did that much impact on the fire.

Everyone is looking around for the source of the bad attitude. I get a few dirty looks from the Hermes cabin, as if they do not like this.

I scoot over to Percy. "Percy, if you are upset about something, you can tell me."

"LIke I said earlier, you will find out why I am upset.
