The three of us looked fearfully at each other. Baelfire was the first one to speak, breaking the awkward silence.

"So, what now?" he asked. I shrugged and Jack shook his head.

"Pan said we would have to..." I carefully chose my next words. "Play alone."

"Don't even think about it." Jack stated angrily. "I won't leave you alone."

I shook my head.

"It's not like that, Jack." I said sadly.

"She's right." Bae commented. "His game, his rules."

Jack shot me a furious look.

"We can make it ours." he insisted.

"Jack," I tried to say calmly. He was getting really angry and upset because of my behavior. "You don't get it. He has magic at his side. We have..."

"Nothing." Baelfire ended, gaining one of my threatening looks. Each letter of that word broke Jack inside.

Jack rolled his eyes, giving up.

"Okay then." he finally said. "But I won't let anyone down. Any of you. Remember that."

He turned around and started walking firmly. He had severely concerned me.

"Jack!" I yelled, so did Bae. "Wait!"

We tried to follow him, but the fog had come back again and he couldn't be seen anymore. I just stayed there, staring off into space.

"Sienna" Bae muttered, trying to bring me back to the earth. "What are we gonna do now?"

I looked at him with concerned, sad eyes.

"I don't know, Bae." I just answered. "Guess we'll have to separate..."

Baelfire laid his hand on my shoulder and looked at me in the eyes. That made me feel strangely better.

"Good luck, Sienna." he said, sincerity laced to his words.

"Good luck Bae." I wished back. He withdrew his hand from my shoulder and began to get away from me. I watched him going into the dark. He glanced at me one last time, and then disappeared into the dense fog.

I lowered my gaze, dazed. I took a few deep breaths but I felt like all around me was spinning too fast.
And then, everything went black.

"What are you doing here?" a voice asked behind him. He turned around to face the tiny fairy.

"Blue." the man said. "I need your help." the fairy rolled his eyes, annoyed.

"Well, I'm afraid I must tell you you're not welcome here." Blue hissed. "Remember the last time you requested my help?" the man nodded impatiently.

"Please, Blue." he insisted. "It's about my daughter. She's in grave danger. You're supposed to get people's happy endings, aren't you?" Blue widened her eyes.

"Your... daughter?" she stammered. The man nodded, looking at her with concerned eyes. "I -I didn't know you had one."

"Well, I do." the man stated firmly. "And she needs to be protected."

The Blue Fairy breathed deeply and took a few seconds before answering.

"I'll help you." she finally accepted. The man smiled gratefully. "But -"

"But?"

"Losing a loved one can be a terrible blow for anyone." Blue warned. "Do you really think you could live with that?"

"Who said I would have to lose her?" the man replied.

"It's the magic's price." Blue answered. She waved her wand and a small object appeared out of nowhere. She took it delicately. "I'll give you something that will lead your daughter to a safer place."

"I'll accompany her wherever she goes." he replied again.

"It doesn't work like that." Blue said sadly. She handed him the object and waved her wand once again. "But I'll give you something else." Blue gave him a tiny bottle with some light-colored liquid inside.

"What's this?" the man asked.

"I know you'll do the right thing," Blue said to him as she became smaller again. "And most important, I know you'll do the best for your child."

"Wait!" the man shouted desperately. "What is this? What do I have to do with it?"

But the Blue Fairy waved her wand for the last time, and any trace of magic faded in the dark of the night. The man opened the hand where he had the small object that Blue had just handed him. He slowly approached his lantern to it. It was a bottle...

And a bean.

Okay okay
So guys, this gets interesting!
[Just for clarifying: Sienna doesn't dream, see or remember these flashbacks. They just take place when she's unconscious.]
Please don't be a ghost reader and tell me what you think! ;)
Thanks for reading and happy day
