Sienna's P.O.V
Locking eyes with the girl in the serene, dark waters, I mumbled under my breath:"I believe."
Both words were followed by a high-pitched, childlike giggle coming from my back. I turned round in confusion.
"What dangerous words to even pronounce," what seemed half a man, half a beast snickered. "You must be a very brave lass."
I narrowed my eyes at him in mistrust. The man was wearing a long, black, leather coat with reddish shades, which combined with his knee-high maroon boots. But his clothing was the least outstanding trait; he had filthy, shoulder-length, wavy, brown hair, which framed his sharp and currently amused face. But his skin... his skin was rough and of an odd color, as though he'd ripped off a crocodile's and put in on. His yellowish eyes latched onto mine as a lizard's, and his hair-raising giggle echoed through the woods again.
"Or, perhaps, very reckless." he –or it– finished, giving a sly grin.
"Who are you?" I asked warily, extending both arms with my hands open threateningly. "I don't want to hurt you, just leave me alone." I warned, even though I had no clue of how to use my recently revealed talent.
His appearance, barely human, made my confidence to slightly fade, but that childish giggle took all the seriousness away from the situation.
"Oh, we both know that you have no control over that, dearie." he said, waving his arms playfully. "But, if you must know, my name's Rumplestiltskin."
I glared at him, still not trusting his intentions.
"Oh, don't worry, dearie." he sneered. "I am a mere vision, thus I can cause no harm."
My eyebrows laced in confusion. "A vision?"
"I'm sure Peter Pan has informed you about not getting off Neverland without his permission," Rumplestiltskin said with a smirk. "Well, it's the same if your aim is to enter it. Unless you find a way to evade him... or posses magic to create a vision of yourself."
"Then why are you here, Rumplestiltskin?" I questioned yet again. His presence –or vision– alerted me, my sixth sense warning that I couldn't trust him... even if he couldn't hurt me.
"Sienna, words are very, very powerful." I widened my eyes at his knowledge of my name.
"How do you know my –"
"So when you pronounced those two marvelous words, I was summoned by you." Rumplestiltskin interrupted, ignoring my question and beginning to pace around. "I know you feel bewildered, frustrated, overwhelmed."
Lost, I corrected innerly.
"We both know you have no control over your magic," he continued. "And that you are terribly frightened of what you could do with it."
I lowered my hands slowly. I couldn't understand how he knew all that, but he was right.
"And of what you have already done."
Those words ached like a strong punch in the stomach, all the air being knocked out of me and replaced by guilt.
Jack.
Rumplestiltskin ventured deeper into the jungle, and after hesitating for a few seconds, I decided to follow him.
"I still don't understand why you are here." I spoke suddenly, and he halted, not bothering to turn round to face me.
