Hook's P.O.V
A hoarse laugh escaped my lips."That's up to be decided yet." I just answered, leaving her upset and confused.
The dirty blond-haired lad shot me an irascible look. "Then would you be so kind to explain us the reason why we are tied up in here?"
"All in good time, mate." I answered patiently.
"I'm not your mate, you nasty bastard." Jack shot back, his every word steeped in poison.
"I prefer dashing rapscallion." I smirked at him. I clapped my hands once slowly, my eyes falling back on Sienna. I needed to be straight, or it would get worse for me. "So you claim to be my daughter."
Her eyes widened in shock; Jack instantly gazed at her, wary and extremely cautious.
I continued firmly. "How can you know that?"
She hesitated briefly, but soon started talking in a hoarse voice. "I... I drank a potion. It was like... like I was wandering around one of my first memories."
Her voice trailed off, and I waited a few seconds for her to continue. "What did you see in that memory?" I urged, given that silence was starting to overwhelm the three of us.
"I... there was a man, Smee. He was talking to you... he'd gone to get something on behalf of yourself: the coin. As you said, that coin was special to you. It was one of the coins of your first booty" she explained, this time with more confidence. I flinched at the thought of the coin. "Then I... I followed you to the Jolly Roger. We entered your cabin, and I saw... a woman."
The breath caught in my throat at those words.
"Milah."
A sharp pain dug into the darkest part of my soul, making me feel beaten and lose my balance.
"She is my mother, Killian." her voice kept on speaking, painfully gentle and warm.
"She," I growled furiously, feeling how the world around me became blurrier. "Is dead."
My words didn't seem to have any effect on her. "You said something about protecting me... and that I wasn't safe with you." her voice spoke firmly, even defiantly. "After that, you used a magic bean, left me into the portal..." she gulped, trying to gather all her courage to pronounce the following words. "And drank a forgetting potion."
"NO!" I found myself falling forward inevitably, my eyes feeling the urgent need to shut.
Maybe not to see the truth.
My shaking hands grabbed the first thing they could to keep myself steady, and, as though fate was laughing at my face, those turned to be her shoulders.
She blinked twice, her blue eyes looking darker than ever. She didn't hold the same hope I'd seen; it almost seemed like... indifference. She'd tried to turn all her disdain, her pain and refusal into a firm mask of apathy. But, as well as my own eyes, I could see her real feelings and emotions behind that pair of blue pearls.
I blinked, hoping that would help me alleviate the burn in my aching eyes and get rid of the tears I was holding back. But it didn't work.
Suddenly, my overwhelmed mind came to realize something; something undeniable, that I should've accepted since the first time I laid my eyes on her.
My dry mouth could only articulate four words. "You are my daughter."
