Felix's P.O.V
The effect that my words had had on her were only comparable to sharp and cutting daggers.I didn't even remember having seen her cry. Not that she was crying then, but her nerves were just on the edge.
I knew what had happened earlier, as Pan had explained it all to me. And everything was proceeding smoothly.
"We should head back to camp." I finally spoke, earning her attention back.
She shot me a confused look.
"Aren't you afraid of what Pan will tell you?" Sienna asked. "He left me alone on purpose."
I frowned huffily at that accusation. "I'm not afraid of what he may tell me, neither of him."
She shrugged. "Neither am I."
"Then you'd better be." I mumbled, to which her brow furrowed lightly.
I rested the end of my club on my right shoulder again and we both started walking back to camp.
You shouldn't be doing this, Felix.
But I had to. Pan cared about her, I could sense it. Though without my help, the lost girl would've been wandering around the jungle till the end of her days.
"How did you find me?" Sienna suddenly questioned. I widened my eyes in confusion, but she couldn't see my face since she followed behind.
"Chance." I just answered.
"I don't believe in that." she stated back, which caused me to smirk slightly.
Neither do I, Lost Girl.
"You know? Not believing in something can be a real problem in Neverland." I said casually.
"I know." Sienna replied, clearly annoyed. "I've been trying to get off this island since I arrived, and everything seems to be a problem to reach my aim."
I didn't know what she was talking about, but I could sense the bitterness in her voice.
"Once you set foot in Neverland, you can never leave. It's his game, Sienna. And you can't win it." I said, earning her total silence for once.
Hook's P.O.V
Quietness finally invaded them during the rest of the way.Too bad it won't last long.
"Be ready, Smee." I whispered to him from behind the huge tree.
Smee, who was hiding behind the tree beside mine, nodded his head and gestured to rest of the crew –three more men–, indicating them to prepare for the attack.
Even though there was a single Lost Boy, I knew him very well, and I would need some help. Not that I couldn't beat him on my own, but I had to ensure my victory; perhaps he was one, but also a dangerously excellent fighter.
And, about the lass, if she truly was the person she claimed to be, her fighting skills would be a huge problem too... specially with the sword.
But I needed to get her. No; I would get her. At any price.
And if that price means to kill a boy, that will be.
"Now!" I bellowed loudly, not caring the stealth I had gone with anymore.
The five of us left our hiding places to lunge at them.
Bill, who was carrying a huge bag, went for Sienna instantly. Even though we'd taken them by surprise, the lass reacted fast, drawing her dagger and gripping it defensively.
But I couldn't lose time watching them; Felix had already begun to swing his own club at me. My sharp hook stopped what could have been a painfully strong blow on my head.
"It's been a while, Captain" I heard his voice saying under his dark hood.
I put more pressure on my hook, leaning closer to the Lost Boy.
"Not long enough" I hissed through gritted teeth.
I drew my sword and blocked another of the boy's blows. Once again, my saber resisted the strength of his club. The members of my crew were nearby, waiting for the moment to attack.
I don't need any help. I can beat him on my own.
I just needed a... distraction.
And I have the perfect one.
"Do you remember what I did to Rufio?" I asked almost in a whisper, his face and eyes immediately turning darker.
I knew it had felt like daggers sinking deeper and deeper in his heart. He let out a deep grunt, trying not to let his guard down.
"Well, there's a far worse fate for you." and, with that, I hit his head with the shiny, golden handle of my saber.
Felix collapsed on the floor, unconscious. I turned around and noticed that Bill's brown, worn bag was moving... struggling, even. It didn't take him too long to get the lass into it.
Noticing my staring, Bill grinned proudly at me, as a small kid who needs his mother's approval and esteem. I nodded my head at him firmly, seeing my mates' satisfied smiles on their faces.
But I didn't feel satisfied. I didn't feel proud, 'cause I hadn't got what I really wanted.
Yet.
