"U-uhm.. excuse me?" the man spoke to her. She was in a daze, making her response a bit late.

"W-- what do you want?!" she shouted. The man stood back.

"I just wanted to know if this is Iris Hollow Academy?" he asked.

"Yeah." she answered shortly, walking away as soon as she spoke.

She went inside the school and went directly to the high school teacher's nook. She needed her schedule quick so she could avoid people as much as possible. Her breathe was still stable even after running fast away from the crowd. As soon as she reached the nook, she knocked twice.

"Good morning." she bowed in respect.

"Ah! Lyved, come quick." her homeroom teacher called. Lyved quickly walked to the teacher.

"Here's your schedule. I'm your homeroom teacher this year, I'm Teacher Bryan."

Lyved waved goodbye and went outside the nook. She put the schedule in her bag and went straight to her locker, which was just adjacent to her classroom. She put in her books and notebooks in there in an odd arrangement. She shut her locker tight and locked it with her own lock.

She wasn't thinking about anything in particular. Until Lyved saw the same man from a while ago. It should have been impossible for him to get here earlier than her since she went inside the school first. Maybe it was the crowd that caused her to be slower. It doesn't matter now, she thinks.

Lyved sat down in the middle back, her favourite seat. That way, she could see the classroom easier, and getting in the class wouldn't be so eye catching. She stared at the back of the man she met earlier, but dismissing it, considering it as coincidence. Soon, the teacher came.

"Alright class. We'll start with introductions." Teacher Bryan started. Only groans from the students erupted from the class.

"No complaining now. I'll start. I'm Teacher Bryan, your homeroom teacher. Let's have a great year together." he said. "Let's start at the back."

He pointed to the guy 4 seats beside Lyved. She sighed and mentally prepared her introduction for the class. She wanted it to be surprising, as she was sort of a new student. After the introductions of the four students before her, she stood up with pride and strength.

"I'm Lyved. Spell my name backwards, and you'll get the person who I really am." she said with a smile.

She could hear the whispers of her classmates. She licked her lips and sat down. The whispers were mostly 'it's Devyl. That's how it's spelled.' girls whispered together. She sent the message simply to the class, it was received well. She got what she wanted, so she was alright now.

"Stop whispering, let's continue the introductions. Lyved, let's talk later." Teacher Bryan said.

Lyved raised her eyebrow at him and slouched in her seat. She picked up her phone from her bag and put on her earphones. She put her music on shuffle and sighed. The music that came up was just EDM from a game she adored. She popped in a bubblegum strip in her mouth and blew it up.

She closed her eyes and started to fall asleep. She didn't want to listen to the class, but some people did interest her to the point that she would pull out an earphone.

"I'm Callum, nice to meet you." the man from earlier introduced. She felt a pang of familiarity, but shook it off. Callum sat down and the student beside him stood up.

"What's up? I'm Dregan." he winked at the other girls, earning swoons from the girls.

Lyved rolled her eyes and put in her earphone again. She watched the teacher look at her suspiciously. She raised her eyebrow again and looked away. She stared at Callum all period without even realising it.

Soon, she started nodding off. She forced herself awake in case someone calls her in. Sure enough, the teacher was going to scold her after class was dismissed. She groaned and spit out her gum. She wrapped paper around it and put it in her pocket.

Finally, the class ended with the teacher wrapping up the home rules. He looked at Lyved and signalled her to come up front. Hesitant, she walked slowly to the front. Unfortunately, there were some students who stayed behind. Callum and another girl who was staring at him.

"Lyved, don't be so aggressive on the first day of school. I've taken care of you last year, and I'm surprised that you're here." Teacher Bryan said.

"What? You thought I would have gotten expelled?" Lyved countered.

"It's not that.. look-- just be good, alright?" he said.

"Whatever." she rolled her eyes and walked away.

Lyved picked up her schedule and had Math and English later. She went outside with a cinnamon roll in her hand. She opened her locker and got her books and notebooks and put them inside the classroom, as it was right in front of her locker anyway.

She set to walk to the rooftop, a place so abandoned, she didn't have to see faces every break time. The janitor always saw her there and gave her a key to the door. She kept it to have her own secret place.

At the top of the stairs, she pulled out the key from her wallet and unlocked the doors. She closed and shut it tight behind her as soon as she felt the fresh breeze of the morning.

"Finally..." she whispered to herself.

She went to the end of the rooftop. Lyved unwrapped the cinnamon roll and bit a huge chunk out of it. She swallowed hard, even though it tasted horrible to her. She bit more out of it and coughed a lot. She was choking, but she just swallowed and shivered.

She's been doing this everyday since summer started. Lyved discovered that every time that she anything that used cinnamon in the recipe, she keeps on choking on whatever she ate. She had no idea what it meant, but she just kept on doing it.

Lyved bit her lips as tears fell from her eyes. She quickly wiped it away while her other hand was hitting her own chest so that the cinnamon roll can go down faster.

Minutes later, she finally could breathe normally. She sighed and looked around the campus. It was a beautiful school. She could feel the breeze embrace her figure, letting her shoulder-length hair fly around. Only the ends were curly, like the popular trend most hairs have.

The leaves were falling down from everywhere. It was truly a beautiful sight to see, but only she could see it.
