As I followed my teacher inside I couldn't help but think about what would happen if I couldn't make any friends. Shaking away that thought, I looked as my teacher pointed out the bathrooms, our lockers and the library. We waited by the door to room 109 as Mrs. Leed looked through her keys. When she finally found it, she opened the door and I followed her inside.

The desks were arranged into groups of 4. I sat at the first desk I saw. It was close to the teachers desk. I waited for everybody else to sit down. Then some boys came and sat at my group. I naturally, got up and saw 3 girls sitting at a group.

I went up to them and asked "Can I sit here?"

"Sure," said the prettiest girl. She had straight brown hair up to her shoulders and brown eyes.

I sat next to a blond girl with blue eyes. They all were talking so I guessed they knew each other. It was pretty awkward just sitting there and listening to them talk.

Finally, Mrs. Leed introduced herself and wrote her name on the whiteboard. Everybody stopped talking and waited quietly for her to continue.

"Hello everyone! My name is Mrs. Leed and I'm your homeroom teacher. I'm also going to be your art teacher this year. I've been teaching at this school for 10 years. When I first started teaching here, this room was painted black and I just hated it. The only reason I've stayed here is because the only subject I teach is art. In other schools, it's a little bit of this and that." As Mrs. Leed continued, I stared at her features. She had blond hair that had been pinned up, blue eyes and wore cheetah print glasses. She had on light blue tights and a striped blue shirt. She was wearing diamond shaped hoops and a matching necklace. She had on 3 matching rings and 10 bracelets. She looked nice though. "I've had some students in my class in the past who hated art and were always so negative. I hope no one in here is going to be like that. Anyways, we will be making our name tags right now. you will all get a piece of manilla paper and you will fold it in half like this," She said, folding the paper in half. "And you will all get a marker and write your name on there like so." she said, writing her name. "Everybody understand? ok now you will hand out the paper and I'll hand out the markers." she said to a boy with black hair that covered his forehead. As she handed out the markers, she said "Once you get your paper you start making your name tag. Don't decorate it too much though."

Once I got my paper, I folded it in half. As Mrs. Leed came to my group, I grabbed a blue marker. Blue is my favourite colour ever since I was in grade 2. I wrote my name Rosy and waited for the others to finish.

The girl in front of me, the prettiest one, her name was Abigail. "Look at my writing, I haven't written anything since school ended." she laughed.

The girl beside her had thin brown hair just below her shoulder and light brown eyes. She was also pretty, but not as pretty as Abby, as her friends called her. Her name was Lauren.

The girl beside me was Natalie, she had long blond hair and blue eyes. She was playing with a white out pen.

"It's ok Abby, I'll help you." She said as she thickened the lines on Abby's name tag that spelt Abigail.

Abby replied "Thanks Lauren."

"Ok class. Now we're going to write our initials on a piece of paper. Then we're gonna cut pieces of paper into our initials and other shapes. We're basically making a mandala. Everyone understand?" Mrs. Leed said while demonstrating.

Everybody nodded their head.

"Well then, get to work!" Mrs. Leed

The class scrambles, getting supplies. I got mine as well. I chose pretty wrapping paper. We all started working once we got everything.
