I walk down the sidewalk slowly as I hold onto the harness of my seeing eye dog, Shadow.
"So what do you think about going and meeting my friends?" Harry asks.
"Sure." I reply with a shrug.
I feel his hand on my back.
"You sure your ok? I mean ever since the crash you've seemed out of it." He says as we continue to walk.
"Harry the crash was six years ago, I'm fine. The only thing that is different is the fact that I can't see." I reasure him.
"Ok, ok I get it. I just worry about you sometimes. Your like a sister to me, because I've known you so long." He says quickly.
"Anyway so I thought we could meet them for lunch since we are out and about right now." He continues.
"So these friends are the boys you have been stuck in a band with for the last three years?" I ask.
"Yep." He answers.
"Well let's go meet them then." I smile.
He takes my hand and begins to lead me down the street.
"Here we are." He says as he stops.
I hear the creaking of a door opening amd then the slight tug as Shadow leads me through the door way.
I've had Shadow since I was claimed leagully blind. He is a golden retreaver that goes everywhere with me.
"They're right over here." Harry takes me hand and we walk.
My grip on Shadow's harness tightens as I walk. I am actually kind of nervous.
"Sorry, ma'am but dogs arn't allowed in the restaurant." A man says.
"Hold on." I reply.
I reach into my back pocket and pull out my papers. I hand them to the man, even though he should see that the harness on Shadow clearly states that he is a service dog.
"Oh, I'm very sorry ma'am. I didn't know that you were a blind bat." The man laughs. He hands me back the papers and I hear him walk away laughing.
I just shake me head, some people don't understand how hard it is.
I begin walking again and suddenly slam into someone. I fall flat on my bum.
"OH I'm so sorry. Here let me help you up." I hear someone say.
I hear Harry laughing behind me.
"Liam she's fine. And she doesn't know that your reaching out to help her." Harry says still laughing.
I reach out my hand and feel someone take it. They pull me up to my feet.
"Why did you not know that I was reaching out to you? You know maybe if you took off your shades you could see better." The man, I think Harry called Liam says.
I feel my sunglasses start to slide off my face as smeone pulls them off.
"Hey!" I exclaim and slap away his hands.
"What's wrong?" Liam asks, his voice soft.
"I-I don't let anyone see me with my sunglasses off." I reply quietly.
"Why?" He breaths.
"I have scars on my eyes." I mutter.
I feel someone set their hand on my shoulder.
"Harry?" I ask.
"Yeah, Cassie. Liam, she is blind." Harry explains.
"Oh uhhhhhh....." Liam trails off.
I sigh.
"If you want to pretend that you don't know me that's fine." I shake my head.
"N-no, I was trying to flirt with you and I just wanted to see your eyes. I'm sorry." Liam stutters.
I head Harry snicker beside me.
"Somebody's crushing." He laughs under his breath.
I roll my eyes even though he can't see.
"Where's the table?" I ask.
"Here, I'll show you." Liam says.
I feel him take my hand. His fingers intertwine with mine and his soft thumb rubs circles on the back of my hand.
I smile. I like the way my hand fits in his and how soft and gently he is.
"Here we are." He says. He helps me slid into the booth and I feel him sit down next to me.
"Where's shadow?" I ask because I let go of his harness when I sat down.
"He's next to the table." Harry replys from across the table.
"Okay good." I nod my head.
"What do you look like Liam?" I ask. I just want to have a mental image of what he looks like.
"Well, he has brown eyes short brunette hair and is pretty muscular." Harry answers. "Why don't you do the samething you did when you met me?"
"Thanks Harry and I think I will." I smile.
"What are you going to do?" Liam asks.
I reach my hand out to my right and it lands on his chest. I move my hand up to his cheek and set my other hand on his other cheek. Then I slowly run my fingers across his face. When I get back to his cheeks, I feel him smiling.
"Do you have a mental image?" He asks.
"I do." I answer. I leave my hands cuping his cheeks. I don't want to move and not be touching him. He skin against mine just feels so right.
He leans his head into my hand. Then I feel his soft fingers intertwine with mine and remove my hand from his face.
"Are you two done yet?" Harry asks. "I'm sure the other boys would like to meet you."
"Oh uhh yeah." I snap out of my trance.
"Okay sitting on the other side of you is Zayn." Harry says.
"Hi." Zayn greets.
"Hello." I wave a hand in his direction.
"Sitting next to me is Niall." Harry takes my hand that is not holding Liam's and Niall shakes it.
"On my other side is Louis." Harry does the same thing and Louis shakes my hand.
"And these are the boys I've been in a band with for the last three years." Harry finishes.
