- 1 month later -
"Liam! Babe, I'm home!" I yell as I shut the door to the flat.
I look around waiting for him to jump out and give me a hug.
"Liam? Where are you?" I ask as I walk into the kitchen.
I'm silent for a moment, listening. Suddenly I hear a loud thump from the bedroom. I rush down the hall and into our room.
"Oh my god." I gasp as I see him sprawled out on the floor, unconscious.
I run over and kneel down next to him. His lip is busted and a large bruise is forming in the right side of his head.
I carefully set his head in my lap and stroke his cheek, "Liam, Liam, baby wake up. What happened? Who did this?"
"I did."
I whip my head around and find my father standing there with a demented grin on his face.
"You." I spit, I can feel the blood rushing towards my head as my heart starts pounding in my chest with anger.
I can't let anger take over, it won't be pretty for me or Liam if that happens. I take a deep breath and glance down at Liam, I hope he is okay.
"I told him what would happen. I told him that I would kill him, and I would have done it too, if you haden't come home early. Can you imagine, coming home, wanting to spend time with your loving boyfriend and then walking into your bedroom to find him laying there, dead in a puddle of blood." My father cackles.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" I exclaim. "What did he ever do to you? He has been nice to everyone, even you. Now just leave, get out before I call the cops!"
"Now wait just a second, how can you even see?" My father asks suddenly.
"I had surgery and got my eyesight back, now leave because I will call the cops." I pull out my phone and unlock it, ready to dial.
"Oh no you don't." My father says gruffly as I hear the click of a gun.
Not again? Really?
"Put down the phone." He instructs.
I quickly press the button to speed dial the police, and then I press the button to turn the sound off. As I set it down I see that the call has gone through and an operator should have picked up the phone. Now, to be as loud as possible so that they will send the police.
"Why did you even bring a gun?" I ask loudly.
"So that I could kill him." He motions to Liam who is still unconscious.
"Why would you want to do that? I still don't understand why you hate me. If you don't like seeing me in magazines then don't look. You don't have to go as far as trying to kill me and my boyfriend!" I exclaim.
I hear a groan and look down to see Liam holding his head in his hands.
"Is that you Cassie?" He asks.
"It's me Liam. You're fine. I've got you." I say softly as I gently stroke his cheek.
Suddenly there is a loud banging on the door of the flat and I hear, "Open up this is the police."
My father turns to me, "You little bitch!" He exclaims.
He reaches out and roughly grabs my hair, using it to pull me up to his level.
"I told you not to call the cops, now I-" He's cut off when I hear the front door crash to the ground and seconds later several police men come into the room.
"Let the girl go and put down the gun." The officer says.
My father presses the gun to the side of my head.
"No!" I hear Liam exclaim.
"Sir, let the girl go. If you shoot her we will not refrain from using force." The officer threatens.
My father shoves me towards Liam and he pulls me into a tight hug. I glance back and see the police officer cuffing my father.
I turn back to Liam and bury my face in his chest. I feel him wince. I glance up at him and see a pained expression on his face.
"Sorry." He grimaces, "Got punched several times there."
I frown. "I'm sorry, Liam."
"Excuse me, I'm sorry but we just need to ask you guys a few questions." Says a voice behind me. I pull away from Liam and turn to the police officer that stands behind us.
I clear my throat, "Sure."
"Okay, so we need to know what happened, start from the beginning, please." He instructs.
"Well," Liam starts. "I was asleep and hear the front door open. I just assumed that it was Cassie getting home a little early, so I just stayed where I was.The next thing I know I was hauled off the bed and beaten." Liam winces as he accidentally bites his split lip. "I was barely awake so I couldn't even defend myself. I guess I passed out."
"Okay." The officer turns to me.
I quickly explain what happened and the officer thanks me and says that we will get a call from the station in the next few days talking about what charges we will want to press.
Liam follows me as I walk the officer to the door and thank him for his services. After he leaves I see Liam sigh as he sits down on the couch, running a hand through his hair.
"Liam, let's get you cleaned up." I say softly as I walk over to him and take his hand. I lead him to the bathroom and make him sit down on the toilet so I can clean him up.
I grab some alcohol rubs and a cream to put on the bruises.
"You don't have to do this." He says as I carefully dab at his cuts with the alcohol rub.
"Yes, I do. He is my father and you are my boyfriend, it is my job to make sure that you are okay." I whisper as I quickly dampen a cloth and press it to his lip, cleaning off the blood.
He sighs in defeat, "Alright."
"Now take off your shirt, I want to see how bad the bruise is on your chest." I instruct.
He slowlly removes his shirt and I gasp. The bruise is huge and it's black and purple.
"Liam? How did that happen? What did he do?" I ask as I stare at it.
"Had a few hard kicks to the chest." He shruggs, wincing slightly.
"Oh baby." I breathe as I press a light kiss to his busted lip. I then kiss his jaw line, then his neck, once I finally get down to the large bruse I softly kiss it.
"I love you." He whispers as he brings my face bacl up to his and kisses me lightly.
We share small kisses as I gently spread the cream onto the brusises. Afterwords we both decide that we need some sleep after the events that just took place.
Now that my father is in jail we will be free.
