"Okay...well what time will you be home? This is the third time this week you've stayed late."

"I know baby, I'm trying but it's a mess at the end of the day and I have to do inventory and it takes a long time."

"Okay, well text me when you leave."

"Okay. Bye."

"Love you too."

But the words were spoken to a dial tone. Luke slid his phone into his pocket and moved towards his kitchen. Looking through the pantries he thought about his wife.

They had been married for two years now and with every passing day since their year anniversary Dayla had been acting weirder and weirder.

He brushed off the thoughts and took out his phone once again. He took out the take out menu as the phone rang in his ear.

"Hello?"

"Hey Dan-"

"Again?"

"Yea." He laughed sheepishly. "Can you come?"

"Already in the car. Did you call Aiden too?"

"Not yet."

"Alright I'll be there in a few."

They hung up at the same time and he called Aiden next, the conversation along the same lines as Dans'.

Twenty minutes later Dan, Aiden and Luke were sprawled out on the furniture in the basement. Two open pizza boxes on the table and half empty beers beside them.

"What are you going to do about her?"

"I don't know but I'm getting pretty sick of her act. I'm home waiting on her ass all the time and I'm as patient as hell and I never get any."

The men laughed and returned their focus to the baseball game on the field.

"Luke...have you ever thought that maybe she could be, well don't take this to offense...but she could be cheating."

"What? Why would she cheat?"

"I don't know...I wouldn't. I mean you're rich as hell, and you're not ugly."

"Wow thanks."

"But seriously, maybe she's just messed up in the head?"

"I don't think she's cheating. She's never lied to me before..but you do make a lot of sense."

The room became quiet except for the sound of the cheering crowd from the TV. But Luke's thoughts were not on the game or on the two men on the couch beside him. No, they were on his wife's absence and the possibility that she could be cheating.
